1 Year Later

I sat next to Sasuke with my hand on my cheek as I quietly stared at Iruka Umino, our Sensei, lecture the class on history.

A year had gone by since then and my time at the academy and Konoha was okay. The only good thing about it was that I had Sasuke and the other Uchihas by my side. The only downside was that the villagers were terrified of me.

There was no reason to be afraid of me. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm merely a child.

I glanced away from our Sensei and my eyes traveled to the other kids in the same class I was in. That dark blue haired that I helped last year happened to be in my class and her name was Hinata Hyūga. She sat on the opposite side of the classroom although I never got close to her.

I never bothered to interact with the others. I stayed by Sasuke's side and was always with him. The only thing that annoyed me were the love struck girls our age who swooned over him.

I slightly turned my head and looked over my shoulder to see the empty seat that was a row behind me. The blonde haired kid, Naruto, wasn't here and we assumed he was out pulling pranks.

Sasuke nudged my arm which made me turn to look at him. He signaled with his head to look forward and once I did, Iruka Sensei placed his chalk down by the chalkboard.

"That's it for today everyone. Enjoy the rest of your day."

"Thank you!" Everyone said as they stood up and began to leave the room chattering away with their peers.

"Finally it's over," I delightfully said as I stood up from my seat and stretched my body. "I thought I was gonna fall asleep."

"When don't you?" He chuckled as he stood up and grabbed his gray satchel from under the desk. "The only reason you haven't gotten caught is thanks to me."

"Yeah, yeah and I'm thankful for that."

Sasuke and I walked out together although some girls would come up to Sasuke and try to talk to him, however, he simply gave his undivided attention to me.

"You never give them the time of day," I commented as I glanced over at the young girls who were ignored by him.

"Why should I when I have you here," he mumbled as he shyly looked away and I did the same.

We stepped out of the academy and walked toward the training grounds.

We had spent about an hour there until Sasuke had to head back first, but not before asking me if I wanted to join his family for dinner.

"No, it's okay. I wanna be home tonight."

"Alright, I'll let them know. See ya tomorrow!" He waved me goodbye before running off.

I walked him run off before I decided to head home. I walked out of the training grounds and eventually started walking past the academy until I hear someone.

"C'mon, apologize!" I heard a boy yell and I turned my head over to see three boys surrounding Hinata.

'Them again.'

One of them placed their hand on her head and pushed her down to the ground on her knees. She pitifully apologized with tears running down her face.

I huffed and began to walk in their direction, but someone had come to her rescue before me and it was someone who I had recognized.

"Quit it!" Sternly said Naruto right behind them. All three boys turned around and scoffed at the sight of him.

I remained behind the tree next to the swing and watched the scene unfold.
