Check-up

"Excellent job, everyone. The threat has passed for the time being, but the Akatsuki is still out there."

We all stood in front of Lady Tsunade's desk with Shikamaru's team up front while your team stood behind them as she spoke to us.

Her eyes trailed over to Naruto's forearm and she asked, "And your injury Naruto?"

"It's fine now, they took care of it granny Tsunade."

Her eyes didn't leave the marks that were left on his arm and you wondered what was going through her head.

"Even if they did, I suggest you get it examined at the hospital just to be on the safe side."

"But I don't-ow!" Naruto was interrupted by Sakura punching him over the head followed by a chokehold to silence him.

"Go easy on him Sakura." You pried Sakura's arm from the chokehold that she kept around around Naruto's neck, allowing the poor boy to breathe some air in.

"I see you got injured as well (Y/n)." Her light brown eyes shifted from Naruto's forearm to the wound that was inflicted on my upper arm.

"Oh yeah, but Ino took care of it right away."

"I'm glad she did, but have Sakura check on that just so it won't get infected."

"Understood." As much as you didn't want to, you had to. The pain wasn't there anymore and you thought your arm was fine now, but hey I guess check ups are necessary every now and then.

"Well both teams deserve a break so go and rest up." And with that she dismissed everyone from her office.

"Off we go Naruto." Your hands made their way to his back and lightly pushed him out the door. "Bye guys!" You waved team 10 goodbye and left with Sakura and Naruto to Konoha hospital.

~Timeskip~

Naruto was sitting down on the hospital bed with the covers pulled over his legs. You were sitting on a stool right beside his bed, with bandages wrapped around your upper arm. Sakura had taken the liberty to check your wound first and cleaned up the excessive amount of dry blood that was left on your arm.

She disinfected the deep gash and with that, she cleared you as good to go but not before thanking her.

She stood on the opposite side of the bed with a clipboard and pen in hand. A moment after, she set the clipboard and pen down and began to perform her medical ninjutsu on his right forearm and proceeded to wrap his hand in bandages.

"Anddd there, all done. Now take it easy okay?"

"Thank you Sakura."

"You really should be careful and should only use that Jutsu as a last resort. As for you," she turned her attention towards you and wagged her finger at you. "Make sure to always be careful when you're in the front lines fighting an enemy. We don't want you getting hurt."

"I know, I know. Thanks for looking out for us though." You gave her a smile and she gladly returned it. "We're bound to get hurt though, we're Shinobi."

"I know." She let out a small sigh and knew that you were right. It's inevitable.

It had gone quiet for a moment until Naruto had let out a low chuckle. "You know...I'm kinda happy. I feel like the three of us are making progress and we're slowly getting closer to Sasuke." Plastered on his face was that famous Uzumaki grin of his that was enough to light up this room and fill your heart with such warmth.

"Yeah, we are and we will reach him."
