I was awakened in the middle of the night to the sound of clinging metal and painful cries filling the air outside. From my bed, I could see an orange and red hue reflecting against the cream curtain that covered the rectangular window. I threw the blanket off my small body before I quietly stood up and decided to see what was happening outside.

I cautiously walked over to the window and slightly opened it to sneak a peek, but what I saw left a horrified expression on my face as I saw blood splattered on the ground and bodies lying on the ground with a large fire that was far brighter than the horizon enveloping the area. A gasp escaped my lips and I staggered away from the window, tripping on my own two feet and falling to the ground landing on my bottom.

"W-what's...happening...?"

My body was slightly trembling in fear, nonetheless, I urged myself back up on my feet. I stepped further away from the window and the thought of my parents ran through my mind. Worry welled up inside me as I ran out of my room barefooted and ran straight across the hall to their room. I slammed the door open but the room was completely dark and empty.

'No, no!' I shook my head and ran down the wooden stairs but there was already a commotion going on downstairs.

"Don't let them get any further!"

I recognized that voice and the one who commanded that was my father. But I heard many 'thuds' follow after his command which I assumed were bodies hitting the floor.

"GAHH!" Painfully cried a woman and I winced at the sound of her scream and the sound of a weapon cutting through her. I stayed by the stairs hesitant and afraid to see what was happening on the other side of the room.

I stepped down from the last few steps of the stairs and as I turned the corner to head into the living room, I was met with my mother who was leaning her shoulder onto the door frame.

"(Y/n)....you have...to...go," she weakly said.

She came staggering into the room using one hand to support herself against the wall and the other to clutch onto the large gash that was on her body which ran from her shoulder to her torso. Her hands were stained with blood and her face was going pale with blood trickling down her lips. She was struggling to take another step forward and that's when she collapsed right in front of me.

"Hey...mom..." I lightly shook her body, but she wouldn't budge. I tried again and again but she wouldn't open her eyes regardless of how many times I called her name.

"Okaasan!" I cried out as I pulled her into my arms and clutched her body. I watched the never ending blood seep from her gash and ultimately cover me in her blood.

My father came into the room with dry blood soaking his shirt. He had his back turned towards  me and glanced over his shoulder to see his only child in tears as she clutched her mother's cold, lifeless body.

He took a few steps back, but was immediately thrown back against a wall. I looked up and there stood a man with short, spiky orange hair and had black piercings on his face. He had purple eyes with circles in them and wore a black cloak with red clouds.

"W-Who are you and what do you want!" I spat out as I looked him dead in the eyes with tears running down my face.

"My name is Pain. I'm part of the Akatsuki and I suppose you're the child we've heard about," spoke Pain as he glanced at me. My father who had his back against the wall, gritted his teeth and threw down a smoke bomb. I felt a pair of hands grab ahold of me, but within the smoke we both heard, "Bansho Tenin!"

A strong force was pulling us back, but my father released his hold on me and I fell to the ground. Strands of my (h/l) (h/c) hair were in my face as I looked up from the ground and saw my father struggling to escape the man's steel grip that was on his throat.

I got up on my feet and attempted to help him by casting a jutsu. "Fire style: Fireball jutsu!" I managed to emit a medium sized fireball and saw it make its way towards Pain.

"Shinra Tensei."

I covered my face as I felt the heat of the fire come towards me until it disappeared. But as it did, I felt something lodged itself into my stomach and a wave of searing pain followed afterward. I grunted as I looked down and saw a black rod impaling my stomach.

Blood made its way up my throat before I coughed it out it. I dropped down to my knees holding the rod as I tried to slowly remove it. I gritted my teeth and hissed as I felt the rod leave my body before I threw it aside. I glanced up at Pain who was coldly staring at me with another rod in his hand.

"Know pain," was all I heard as I horrifyingly witnessed Pain impale my father and I felt the warm liquid splatter onto my face. I stared at the scene with my eyes wide open and my lips slightly parted as I was left unable to utter a word. Pain released the hold he had on him and my father fell to the floor in front of me. As he lied on the ground I looked into his eyes and saw his life fading away.

"(Y/n)..." he called out as he tried to reach for me, but he dropped his hand to the ground and I knew right there and then that was dead.

I sat there motionless as I saw a pool of blood oozing around his body. I couldn't help but shed more tears as I felt the loss of both my parents begin to hit me. A surge of emotions and power began to bubble up inside me as I glanced at my parent's bodies.

As I gazed up at Pain, my vision changed. I slightly turned my head and saw a mirror that was behind Pain and saw that I activated my Sharingan which had a black tomoe. I gazed over at Pain once more and glared directly into his eyes and he stopped moving and ended up taking a step back.

He placed a hand on his head and began to grunt and I raised my brows before standing up.

'Is it genjutsu? Did I do that?'

Although I knew it couldn't be powerful, I took this opportunity to jump out a nearby window. I slipped past the ever growing fire and ran away from my home and my village, not daring to look back at the chaos and painful event that had just occurred.

'I'm sorry..'
