The Path of a Shinobi (Reader x various)

Karin and Jūgo

You kept a distance from the red headed female as she made her way out of the town. You and Shiba had decided to stray clear from her below-ground since she kept peering behind her every so often.

So, we decided it would be best to watch her above ground and stay hidden in the trees.

"Smell anyone else besides her?" You quietly whispered to Shiba but he shook his head no.

"Damn."

As you watched her run to who know where, from a distance, we could see an enormous, blinding bright white figure that was large enough to reach the sky. It stayed illuminated in the sky, but after a minute had passed, it exploded in place and the sound of the explosion resounded throughout the whole area.

You had no doubt that your friends had seen and heard the explosion. You figured they were currently on their way there to see if it was related to Sasuke or Itachi.

The girl looked frantic and worried and stopped to do a hand sign. She stayed still for a few seconds before she started to pick up the pace, heading towards another direction rather than where the explosion was.

Some time had passed and from above, you could see a glistening body of water not too far up ahead.

"I smell his scent up ahead and...there's another one."

A rustling of leaves from behind our backs had startled us and you quickly peered over your shoulder and saw an orange haired man appear from within the cluster of leaves. He formed a fist and threw a punch at you, but you backed away onto another branch. His first collided with the tree and caused it to break in half which alerted the red head below.

"Jūgo?!"

She noticed your presence as well and threw a kunai in your direction. You saw the kunai coming from the corner of your right eye and ducked your head. As it flew above your head. you did a backflip and landed on the ground with Shiba while maintaining your distance from the two of them.

"Are you alright, Karin?"

"Yeah, but how did you find me?"

"I sent a few birds out in search for you. They told me you were being followed by someone." Taking in his appearance, he was wearing a similar black cloak like the female next to him.

"She's from Konoha," she said while pointing a finger at you. "We need to go find Sasuke and warn him about this."

'So they are with him.' As you stared at the two of them, you figured the girl wouldn't be much trouble to deal with. The only one you would have to worry about is Jūgo. But you needed answers first.

"Where's Sasuke Uchiha?" You asked as you took a step forward.

"That's none of your business!" Karin exclaimed, but Jūgo placed a hand in front of her to calm down.

"What do you want with Sasuke?"

"He's an old friend and teammate who I'm looking for. I just want to talk." But Sasuke wasn't one to talk. All I would get out of him would be a 'hm' so it would end with us exchanging fists.

"Sasuke has us now. He doesn't want you so go away and leave him alone," Karin spat out as she narrowed her eyes at you with every word she said.

Your lips were in a narrow line before a smirk appeared and you stared at them in amusement, "Hehe, I wouldn't be so surprised if the same happened to you guys. If you're a burden or aren't of any use to him anymore, then he won't hesitate to throw you away and leave you behind. Just like how he did to us."

In his eyes, we were all merely pawns who he can use in order to achieve his goal. At least one or possibly all of his companions who he's traveling with are bound to suffer our fate.

"Sasuke would never do that!" She furiously cried out.

Beside her, Jūgo's breathing went ragged before he stared at you with a crazy, sinister look in his red-orange eyes.

As he stared dead into your eyes, his left iris turned yellow while his sclera turned pitch black. The left side of his body had started to turn gray and some tomoes appeared on his body.

'So he was with Orochimaru too then.'

He started to charge towards you and he brought his gray arm above, wanting to smash it down on your head. But as he came closer, his eyes came in contact with your Sharingan which appeared a few seconds ago.

His eyes widened and he halted in place, slightly trembling as he slumped onto the ground. You had placed him in a genjutsu, but it would wear off soon.

Your eyes moved to Karin and she stood there with her mouth agape and with legs shaking as she stumbled back, wanting to get away from you after witnessing her partner go down.

Her eyes glanced behind her and you narrowed your eyes wondering if Sasuke was somewhere over there.

Your cold, red eyes bore into her crimson eyes, which left her a bit frightened, but the next word you said was what frightened her the most.

"You're next."
