The Path of a Shinobi (Reader x various)

Arrival

I picked myself up from the pile of rubble and used the sleeve of my (f/c) shirt to wipe off the dry tears from my face.

Silently looking around the area, something else caught my attention. I slowly walked towards the large pile of rubble and climbed it. On top of it was a large body who was dismantled and had pieces of metal sticking out from his body. His Rinnegan was visible and I knew he was with Pain.

"I'm the one you want, not them." I roughly kicked his body which caused his body to flip over and face the sky.

I scoffed and turned away from him and walked away, not knowing where to look. In a flash, something appeared right in front of me and startled me resulting in me almost tripping on my own two feet as I stepped back. The only distinct things that made my eyes widen were the long orange hair, piercings, and the Rinnegan.

"Found you."

His eyes locked with mine and he lunged forward, aiming to grab my neck, but I shoved his hand away and jumped away from him.

"We know where Naruto is and now you. Be prepared for what's to come," he said before suddenly disappearing.

"HEY!" I shouted as I looked around me, trying to see if he would appear out of nowhere.

A blinding white light shined in the sky and using my arm, I placed it against my forehead to block the light. As I did, I heard a loud rumbling sound in the distance that was quickly approaching and so was a cloud of brown debris.

"Quick (Y/n), over here!" Another Katsuyu ushered but this was one was longer in length possibly around my height.

I ran over to her and she latched herself onto me and absorbed me into her body right on time. Being sucked inside, I found it somewhat difficult to breathe and felt my body getting slimy. I shivered at the feeling but endured it for the time being.

I don't know how long I was there but I'd say a few minutes had gone before she detached herself from me. I landed on the ground and took in a deep breath before lifting my head up. I gasped as I saw that there was nothing surrounding the area. The buildings, the village, my home...was gone.

The only thing in the area was the massive crater in the midst of all the destruction. I dug my fingers into the ground with my eyes going back to their normal (e/c).

Not only did he take away those who mattered to me, but now my home where I grew up after I suffered from my childhood tragedy.

A large cloud of smoke appeared in the crater, but it was difficult to see what it was or who it was. A few minutes or so had gone by before it started to slowly clear up and reveal Naruto along with Gamabunta, Gamaken, and Gamahiro.

"He finally came." A smile tugged its way to my lips, relieved to see his arrival at the scene. I stood up from the ground and as I took a step forward, Katsuyu interrupted me.

"He doesn't want anyone to interfere. I think that applies to you as well, (Y/n)," softly spoke Katsuyu but hearing this slightly infuriated me.

"What?! What does he mean not to interfere?! This involves me too, not just him! I'm going out there to fight, not just for me, but for the village!" I claimed as I skidded down the rubble and landed inside the crater.

I wasn't going to let him be burdened with fighting Pain all by himself.

Running towards the three giant toads, I could tell Naruto noticed me from the corner of his eye because he looked in my direction. Not too far from him, I saw Tsunade being carried away by Gamakichi.

Naruto jumped off Gamabunta's head and landed right in front of me. "O-oh (Y/n)." He awkwardly said while I glared at him for what he said just moments ago.

"You didn't expect me to stay put, did you?"

"Well I was hoping you would, but...I had a feeling you would show up." He rubbed the back of his neck and I took this chance to take in his appearance. His eyes were no longer blue but yellow with toad like iris eyes along with an orange pigmentation around his eyes. He wore a short sleeved red cloak that had black flames on the bottom and he carried a large scroll behind his back.

'So this is sage mode huh.'

In all honesty, the look suited him pretty well. With or without it, he was still good looking.

I was snapped out of my staring once I heard footsteps. Looking to my right, not too far from us stood Pain with the other five standing behind him.

This long awaited battle for revenge has finally come.
