Lost Bonds

Naruto carried Sakura away and set her down on the water.

"What the hell Sasuke?! Not once, but twice you tried killing her!" I shouted right behind him and engaged with him in hand to hand combat.

"Tch. She's a nuisance." He barely ducked his head as I swung my leg over his raven head. He lost his footing for a moment and I brought my leg back down and kicked his feet causing him to fall back. I leaned towards him and grabbed the collar of his grey shirt.

"Do you really not feel anything? We were a team!" I exclaimed.

"I'm no longer part of team 7. It's dead to me."

He used his foot to kick my chin and used that chance to jump back and landed underneath the bridge where the darkness enveloped him. I remained between the light and darkness while Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi Sensei were standing where the sun shined down on them.

"Would you feel something if you tried killing me? Would you even feel an ounce of regret? Would you hesitate?" I asked as I looked into his eyes, only to see him flinch and at a loss for words almost as if there was an internal battle in his mind.

"(Y/n), stop. He isn't the same Sasuke anymore. What dwells within him is an intent to kill," stated Kakashi Sensei.

Naruto took a few steps forward and called out to Sasuke. "Some guy named Tobi told us the truth about Itachi."

"First (Y/n) and now you."

"I don't know whether he was lying or not, but no matter how you put it, what you've been doing...I understand."

Sasuke formed a fist and tightly clenched it as he stared at Naruto. "Naruto, I've said this once before. What do you, who has no parents or siblings, understand about me? The only one here who would understand is (Y/n). We've been in the same situation. Outsiders should shut the fuck up!" His voice echoed throughout the area.

Sakura stood up and boldly spoke back to Sasuke. "You don't know what Naruto has gone through for you! No matter what bad rumors he heard about you, he still considered you a friend! Even when everyone is after you, Naruto wants to save you."

"Save me? From what?" Scoffed Sasuke.

"All of this!" I gestured with my hand at our surrounding and what took place above on the bridge. "From revenge, what else!"

"I'm definitely going to save you from that dark abyss of revenge."

"There's no need for that. The curtains of my revenge have already been raised. Just earlier...I finally defeated one of Itachi's enemies. I killed one of Konoha's superiors right where we're standing. Someone named Danzō." He undid his fist and his hands looked like they were itching to do something. "It's a sensation I've never felt before! The sensation of the stained Uchiha being purified! The sensation of separating the Uchiha from this rotten world of shinobi! There's no way you'd understand! What I've been doing is what you, of Konoha, have desired all along! Just like you, who continue to oppose the Uchiha since the old days, have wanted! I'm going to erase the Uchiha from your memories! You and all of Konoha! I'm going to kill you all!"

'He's gone mad.'

"Sasuke, listen....is this really what Itachi would have wanted? All of this? And for you?"
