Team 10's Revenge

Two days had gone by since Asuma Sensei's death and people were faring okay. Everyone was back to their daily routine and that included you and Naruto with your training.

You were sparring Kakashi Sensei and had your Saigaigan activated. He was beginning to charge at you before you created a few hand signs and said, "Ninja Art: Blazing Fire."

You pulled a few kunais which were burning with flames at the tip. You threw them in his direction which he dodged with ease but then a stream of fire escaped your lips and made its way to him. A trail of fire began to circle around him and engulf him as it started to spread quickly and rise.

He created a water dragon and it collided against the fire around him which exploded and surrounded a portion of the area with smoke.

While in the smoke, you could see a flicker of lightning and knew what he was going to use. You jumped out from the smoke and he rapidly approached you and was about to strike you with his Lightning Blade. You stood your ground and activated your Sharingan reading to evade his jutsu, but he deactivated the jutsu just centimeters away from you.

You raised a brow at him but then he spoke, "I wouldn't actually hurt you (Y/n). You are my favorite afterall." He ruffled your (h/l) (h/c) hair and gave you a closed eye smile, despite him wearing a mask.

You gave him a smile in return and fixed your hair to how it originally was. He tapped your shoulder and when you looked up at him, he pointed a finger on over to the cluster of trees. Standing under one of the trees was Shikamaru.

While he was making his way towards you, Naruto stopped his training for a moment and greeted him. "Yo Shikamaru!" He pulled Shikamaru into a side hug and asked, "What brings you here?"

"Actually I was wondering if I could steal (Y/n) for a moment, would that be fine Kakashi Sensei?"

"Go ahead. I'll take a break in the meantime." He pulled out that perverted book of his while you sighed at him. 'That's my Sensei.'

"Aw, why only (Y/n). What about me?" Asked Naruto.

"Because I need her." Shikamaru grabbed your wrist and pulled you over to where he was standing, leaving a sulking Naruto who trudged back to his shadow clones.

We stood under the shady tree and you waited for him to speak first.

"After that breakdown, I know what I have to do now. Meet me at the village gates at dawn."

"For?"

"Ino, Choji, and I are going to avenge Asuma Sensei. We're going after those two Akatsuki members."

"Okay but why me? I'm not part of your team and you do realize the Akatsuki are after me as well right?"

"We know they're strong and your skills will help us succeed. I know they are after you but I won't let them capture you."

You thought about it for a moment and wondered if you really should accompany them.

'My revenge is on the Akatsuki so it would benefit me as well.'

"Alright, I'll go."

"Thank you. I'll see you then." He gave you one last smile before leaving you to return to your training.

*Dawn*

You arrived with your gear on at the village gates and saw Ino, Choji and Shikamaru waiting for you.

He lit up the lighter and the small fire illuminated your figures in the dark. You took a deep breath and asked, "Ready?"

"Yeah." Replied Shikamaru while Ino and Choji nodded their heads. He turned off the lighter and placed it in his pocket. We barely took a step until a voice stopped us.
