Gaara's Revival

Everyone's solemn eyes stared down at Gaara and the sound of low sniffles erupted from Naruto. He covered his eyes with his sleeves, wiping away his tears not wanting to show weakness in front of us.

"I'm sorry we couldn't save him..." It was unbearable to see Gaara dead and the sight of Naruto wallowing in sadness. He ignored your words and took another step closer to Gaara's body.

"He's the Kazekage..he j-just became the Kazekage," he said with gritted teeth while the tone of his voice was rising with each word he said.

"Try to calm yourself-"

"JUST SHUT UP!" Lady Chiyo was interrupted by Naruto's outburst, tears brimming down his face. "If all of you Sand shinobi hadn't put a monster inside him, then none of this would've happened! Calling us jinchuuriki...what gives you the right to label us...who are you to decide someone else's fate." Your head hung low staring uneasily at the ground.

"I couldn't save Sasuke...and I couldn't save Gaara either, who's next? (Y/n)?" His tears were silently dripping down onto the ground. You took a step in front of him and wrapped your arms around him. He hid his face in the crook of your neck, your (h/c) hair shielding his teary-eyed face.

"I don't need saving, I can save myself," you whispered into his ear. He wrapped his arms around you tightlyly not wanting to let go, fearing maybe one day you could be gone as well. He knew you were capable of yourself but there's no telling what could happen.

"But...comforting me won't bring Gaara back..."

"I know." A pained expression appeared on your face as you didn't have any other ideas on how to help Naruto cope with this situation.

From the corner of your eye, you could see Lady Chiyo's figure as she knelt down in front of Gaara. That's when Naruto had released his arms and stepped away from you to see what Lady Chiyo would do.

"What are you doing?" Questioned Naruto as we saw a blue aura of chakra from her hands that were placed on Gaara's chest. 'That's definitely not medical ninjutsu.'

"It's going to be all right, he's bringing him back."

"You mean, back to life?" Sakura nodded her head but her lips were pressed together and the clear sadness evident on her face.

'A jutsu like that could only mean one thing.' We witnessed her effort to revive him but her chakra was depleting. The blue aura was minimizing in size and losing its color. Naruto knelt down across from her and offered her his chakra.

"I'll spare some chakra as well. If it means reviving him then I'll gladly help." You knelt down next to Naruto and placed your own two hands above his. The chakra that was being poured into the jutsu was immense and helping her withhold the jutsu longer.

"It's a great comfort that new souls like yourselves have come along. Up until now, everything I've done in my life has been wrong. But at least here in my final hour I could do something right for a change. The Sand and the Leaf...may the future that awaits them be different than how they were in our time." She continued on speaking saying her final words to Naruto and Sakura until her eyes landed on you.

"(Y/n)...we may not have spoken much, but I see great potential in you. One who's willing to protect those around you. You will grow into a fine kunoichi." You mouthed a silent 'thank you' at her while she gave you a small smile of her own.

"Do me a favor you two. You both know the extent of Gaara's pain and he knows yours. Please look after Gaara for me...." Her words trailed off, leaving you two to remove your hands. The bright aura emitting from her hands stopped as she slumped forwards.
