Mission to the Sand

It was almost noon and you were with Naruto and Sakura waiting for Kakashi Sensei to arrive for your first mission that you'd be assigned.

"That guy won't ever change that habit of his," you said while leaning against a nearby wooden fence.

"You've got that right," sighed Sakura. You were looking up at the sky, watching the clouds drift by, until you then heard Naruto yell out 'you're late.'

Kakashi Sensei was now approaching us and apologizing for his tardiness saying he had to file paperwork. Even after apologizing to us, Naruto still complained but changed topics, wanting to get our assigned mission.

"You better not complain about the mission we receive," said Sakura as we were walking towards the Hokage Tower.

"Yeah don't be creating a ruckus in there." While you were almost approaching the Hokage Tower, you noticed a carrier bird flying in that direction as well.

'Wonder what's that about.' You ignored it for now and continued walking. After a few minutes you guys were already inside to receive your assigned mission. In front of you, seated behind the large desk was Tsunade, Iruka, Shizune and four other people.

"Team Kakashi I'm assigning you to a C-rank mission. You will be on escort duty for a caravan ."

"HUH?! A C-rank mission?! I don't want that kind of mission." He huffed and crossed his arms over his chest.

'And he complained.' You face palmed at his behavior while Sakura and Kakashi Sensei had the same thoughts as you.

"We're giving you a light mission because you and (Y/n) recently came back not too long ago."

"I don't care, don't go easy on us. We can handle it right (Y/n)?" Sakura grabbed Naruto in a chokehold, trying to get him to be quiet. Instead of staying quiet, Naruto murmured something under his breath which caused Sakura to tighten her hold on him and fume with rage. You sighed and removed Naruto from Sakura's hold before she could suffocate him to death.

Behind you all, a lady with short brown hair barged in and handed over an emergency message from the Sand. Lady Tsunade's eyes widened while she was reading the message.

"What's wrong?" You asked, curious as to what the message said.

"The Kazekage of the Sand has been captured by the Akatsuki." We were shocked to hear about that and we were concerned about him, knowing he has the one tails.

"Team Kakashi, I will be assigning you a new mission. You will dispatch immediately and report about the situation in the Hidden Sand to Konoha and you will provide aid to them."

"Right." The three of you said in unison and Kakashi Sensei decided to meet at the village gates in 15 minutes.

*Timeskip*

Your team was standing outside the village gates, ready to leave. You said your farewells to Lady Tsunade but not long after you started walking, Jiraiya Sensei appeared out of nowhere. He greeted us but continued along to inform Tsunade, hearing about the situation in the Sand. They began to whisper amongst each other but occasionally taking a few glances at us.

"(Y/n), Naruto, I'd like a word with you two." He motioned us over away from Sakura and Kakashi Sensei.

In a serious tone he said,"Make sure to be careful when you're up against the Akatsuki and don't do anything reckless Naruto."

"I'll make sure of that," you said while giving Naruto a  glance, knowing he'd probably would do something.

"You two already know that the Akatsuki are targeting you. I know you two are strong but remain level headed about the situation and...don't use that power." He looked at you two dead serious in the eyes while you both nodded your heads.
