Journey to the Land of Waves

"Sasuke I'm at point B."

"Sakura, I'm at point C."

"Naruto and (Y/n) we're at point A."

We saw our target slowly move and peek it's head out. We silently looked at one another and gave each other a nod of approval as we inches closer to our target.

When Kakashi Sensei gave us the signal, we all jumped out from our hiding spot, but Naruto was quicker and managed to capture our target which was a chubby white cat.

I saw the cat squirm in Naruto's arm and it began to viciously scratch his face off while he screamed in agony and threw the cat at us.

~Timeskip~

We were standing in front of the Third Hokage as he was finding another mission to assign us to until Naruto interrupted, "I want to go on a real mission. Something challenging and exciting, not this little kid stuff."

I nudged Naruto on the arm to silence him and while the hokage began lecturing us, Naruto whispered about the different kinds of ramen he had tried and realizing that no one was listening to him, the Third Hokage cleared his throat which made us all immediately look at him.

"I'm not the little brat that pulls pranks all the time. I'm a ninja now and I want a ninja mission," replied Naruto as he pouted and crossed his arms.

"Not a little kid anymore huh? Fine, I'm going to give you guys a C-rank mission. You'll be body guards on a journey," responded the Hokage.

Naruto couldn't contain his excitement and started blurting out, "Who?! Who?! Are we guarding a princess or some feudal lord?!"

The Hokage called for them to send in our visitor, but who we saw was an older man who held a bottle of alcohol in his hand and was squinting at us.

"Hey you, the little one with the idiotic look on his face. You really expect me to believe you're a ninja?" His breath made me wave my hand in front of my face to dismiss the smell and it wasn't a pretty smell.

"Ha! Who's the little one with an idiotic look on his face?" Naruto laughed but as he looked over at us, we compared our height and it was obvious who the old man was talking about. Sasuke was the tallest, with Sakura and I being the same height and lastly Naruto being the shortest of us.

An irk mark appeared on Naruto's forehead and he was about to charge at our client until Kakashi held the back collar of his jacket.

"I am Tazuna, a master bridge builder. I must return to my country. I'm building a bridge there that'll change the world. I expect you to get me there safely even if it means giving up your life."

~Timeskip~

We procceed to head out of the village and began walking to the Land of Waves. Kakashi Sensei began talking about the different villages but while he was talking there happened to be a puddle on the ground which seemed odd since it should've dried up under the sun.

I glanced at Kakashi Sensei and he also noticed the puddle, but kept quiet. Suddenly chains were shot out and tightly wrapped themselves around Kakashi Sensei to the point where it sliced him to shreds.

"Now it's your turn," replied the two ninjas as they went behind Naruto. Before they could hurt him Sasuke and I went into action.

Sasuke threw a kunai and shuriken to trap their chains in the tree while I ran towards one of the ninjas and roughly kicked him in the face.

Meanwhile Sasuke kicked the other ninja but the intensity of the kick sent the guy stumbling to the ground which broke the chain off from the tree.

He quickly got up and ran towards Sakura and Tazuna.

"Sasuke go protect Sakura and Tazuna," I yelled and Sasuke quickly appeared in front of them to protect the two while the other enemy that was in front of me used his strength to pry away from the chains.

In his hand, he had a claw and aimed it right at my face, but I backed away which allowed him time to run towards Naruto.

"No you don't!" I ran after the guy who approached a stunned and fearful Naruto and watched as his hand got slashed from the ninja's claw.

I threw a kunai right at his back, but smacked it away with his claw. He decided to come after me, but before he could take a step, Kakashi Sensei appeared and knocked both of the enemies out.

"Sorry that I didn't come help you out sooner Naruto. I didn't think you'd freeze up like that. Good job Sasuke, (Y/n) very smooth."

I nodded my head at my Sensei, but hardly carded since my focus was on Naruto. His head was hung and it was clear that he felt down after what happened.

"Hey you're not hurt are you, scaredy cat," taunted Sasuke. Naruto gritted his teeth and was about to launch himself at him until Kakashi Sensei mentioned to Naruto that there was poison in his wound.

"Naruto's hand could become a problem. I guess we should go back to the village." Naruto shook his head  at Kakashi Sensei's words and suddenly stabbed his wound.

"Why am I always different... Why am I so... I worked so hard to get here, pushing myself until it hurts. Training alone for hours, anything to get stronger, to reach my dream. I will never back down again and let someone else rescue me. I will never run away and I won't lose to Sasuke. Upon this wound I make this pledge. Bridge builder, I'll complete this mission and protect you with this kunai knife," spoke Naruto with determination filling his eyes.

"Naruto that's cool how you got the blood out from your wound but if you lose more blood you'll die," coughed Kakashi Sensei as he interrupted his moving speech. Naruto started freaking out until I grabbed his hand.

"Let me take a look at it."

A tiny blush appeared on my blonde haired friend as I held his hand in the palm of my hand. I lifted my hand and placed it over his, but before I could begin healing it, it started to heal on its own.

'Must be the work of his own tailed beast.'

"It should be good now," I said to him as I removed my hands having done nothing to heal him.

"You're awesome!" He exclaimed as he looked at his fully healed hand.

Sasuke having noticed our interaction ignored us and I placed my hands in my pocket as we walked away to carry on with the mission that we accepted to complete.

Thus began the awaitment of danger that lies ahead for squad seven.
