A/n: open to anyone's ideas regarding abilities for (Y/n)'s Mangekyō Sharingan. I have ideas but idk which one I'll go with yet
Three days had gone by since Jiriaya Sensei's death and to say we were okay was an understatement, but we were slowly but surely going to recover from it. Naruto and I will be okay...eventually.
During that span of time, we were able to decode the message that was left on Fukasaku's back and Naruto had gone to Mount Myoboku to learn Sage Mode.
It was quiet without him and I was left on my own to train. It would've been cool to learn Sage Mode just like Jiraiya Sensei, but Lord Fukasaku ordered me to stay and keep on mastering the Rinnegan. Because if push comes to shove then it's going to be a battle of the Rinnegan between Pain and I.
I was currently sitting down under the shade with my back against a tree. Regaining my breath, I wiped the beads of sweat off my forehead with the back of my hand and let out of huff. I had currently used up half my chakra and thought it would be best stop now before I drained it even more. I got up from the ground and stretched my limbs before I started to make my way out the training grounds.
From a distance, I heard something skyrocket into the sky before suddenly exploding. My lips slightly parted as I stared off into the direction where it was heard and I could see a puff of smoke rising in the air. More explosions were heard but they were coming from different directions.
'What the hell...' I started to run towards the inside of the village and jumped on top of a nearby building and saw buildings crumbling and smoke surrounding various areas. Explosions were going off left and right and people were frantically running away, fearing for their life.
"(Y/n)!" Someone called my name from below and standing there was Kiba along with Hinata and Shino.
"What's going on?" I yelled before jumping off and landing in front of them.
"We don't know, but the attacks are happening all around the village," responded Hinata.
'Could it be that they're here?' I mean it was possible that the Akatsuki are the ones behind this. Who else would be able to cause all this.
"I'm gonna take a look around. Make sure you guys help around." Before either of the three could utter a single word, I took off searching left and right for the source of the attacks.
An explosion went off right behind me and the force of it sent me flying forward to the ground. Lying flat on the ground, a shadow loomed over my body and when I looked over my shoulder, an enormous black and orange centipede was staring right at me. The centipede eyes had the Rinnegan and it had a large black piercing sticking through its face.
I quickly scrambled up on my feet and stared at the centipede who was ready to devour me. The centipede tried using its body to crush me but I avoided it by jumping away.
'I have to use my chakra wisely. A low blow attack would be wise to use. If it's a summoning then it shouldn't be too difficult.'
Weaving a few hand signs, I used a wind style Justu to create sharp slices of wind that was sent towards the centipede which sliced off some of its small legs. As it did, I pulled out a kunai that had a paper bomb attached and threw it at its face.
I ran away and hid behind some rubble right before I heard the paper bomb go off. The noise resounded throughout the area and the force of it created a smoke of dust and the wind harshly blew my (h/l) (h/c) hair.
A minute had gone by before I peeked over the rubble and saw half of the centipede's body gone until it disappeared into a cloud of smoke.
"(Y/n)." Turning around, I saw a large white slug appear from an alleyway in front of me, but a smaller version detached itself from the larger body and made its way towards me.
"Katsuyu!" I quickly scooped her up in my hand and lifted her up to my eye level.
"The Akatsuki are here and have attacked the village. More specifically Pain. They've come for you and Naruto."
"So they really are here..." my voice trailed off and I gritted my teeth, but a wave of determination washed over me and a small smirk appeared on my lips. "Well if it's a fight they want, then it's a fight they'll get."
I placed her on my shoulder and looked up at the sky with my (e/c) eyes being replaced with my Rinnegan. 'Guess I'll be avenging you soon, Jiraiya Sensei.'
"Lady Tsunade had someone call for Naruto to come back," mentioned Katsuyu.
"So he should be arriving soon then." Katsuyu nodded her head and I made sure she was properly secured on my shoulder before I ran off to a random direction.
People were lying around on the ground either covered in blood or trapped underneath some broken rubble. The damage done around here was unbelievable.
As I was passing by run down buildings, a gray patch of hair caught my attention and the sight of my Sensei stuck in a pile of rubble with blood running down his forehead caused my skin to go cold and the pit of my stomach to drop.
"Kakashi Sensei!" I quickly ran towards him and knelt down in front of him. His head lung low and I started to softly shake him and call his name, but he wouldn't budge or respond.
"Hey...Kakashi Sensei. Come on wake up! Please! You can't be..." Tears started to prick my eyes, but I tried to hold them back. I didn't want to lose someone else. This was too soon. I still haven't gotten over Jiraiya Sensei's death.
"I'm sorry (Y/n), but...he's gone," hesitantly said Katsuyu and as those words left her mouth, I slammed my fist on the pile of rubble in anger. I stared at the ground with my head lung low and eyes wide.
A tear had escaped my eye and slipped down the bridge of my nose and silently fell onto the ground. I continued to slam my fist on the ground in pure rage and despair. I broke the layer of my skin and drew blood from my hand, leaving a stinging pain to settle there, but I didn't care. It didn't bother me. The only thing bothering me the ever building guilt that was forming inside of my heart.
"I'm sorry," I choked out and lifted my head up to stare at my dead Sensei with a few tears rolling down my cheeks and dripping from my chin. None of this would've happened if they weren't after us. If we didn't have a tailed beast inside of us or if I could've met my fate sooner then maybe they would still be here doing what they loved. But they had to be taken away from us. Him and Jiraiya Sensei. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry," I continuously repeated to him and Jiraiya Sensei hoping their spirits would hear me but I knew it was futile. They were both gone...
