Today is indeed a glorious day. I feel blessed.
My heart hops at the same time as my feet. No words can explain how eager I am to tell them the good news.
"Good morning, madame librarian~" I greeted in a sing-song tune while hopping way past her.
"You look cheerful today. Got some good news?" tanong pa niya habang tinatatakan ang mga bagong dating na libro.
"You bet, madame."
"Sinagot ka na ba ng girlfriend mo?" tanong pa niya.
I chuckled at the thought, but nice try.
"Madame naman. Wala ngang girlfriend, sagot pa kaya." sagot ko at dumiretso sa Archives.
Naabutan ko si Lauren na nag-aayos ng mga papeles sa lamesa na sa tingin ko'y kasama sa Portfolio niya sa isang subject. Si West naman ay naiidlip habang si East at Wendy ay abala sa pagkuha ng mga litrato sa may bintana.
Si Baldo nama'y naroroon sa isang sulok at panay ang dutdot sa kaniyang phone.
I mustered up all my strength and in a moment, I gleefully exclaimed, "Guys! Good news!"
Natuon ang atensyon ng lahat sa akin, maski si West ay napabangon sa sofa. Agad ko namang pinakita sa kanila ang screenshot ng e-mail na nakuha ko.
"Do you have any idea what this is?" tanong ko sa kanila at itinuro ang nasa screen.
"A screenshot. Or if you're asking what's in the screenshot, it's an e-mail." pupungas-pungas na sagot ni West at humikab.
"Thank you for stating the obvious, West." saad ni Wendy.
"It's none of my business." singit naman ni Baldo na tutok pa rin sa kaniyang phone.
"You should've at least pretended that you care." ani Wendy.
"So, what's in the e-mail?" tanong ni Lauren at East.
"Yesterday night, COSMOS Clothing Co. sent that email, indicating that they're interested in recruiting me along with the other officers of the Sewing Club to work as trainees and probationers under them." pagsasalaysay ko, "By the way, COSMOS Clothing Co. are one of the guests invited back then at the fashion show that we organized."
It took them a moment to let what I just said sink in to their minds. Wendy shook both of my shoulders with a widened glistening eyes. Lauren, East, and West gave me a round of applause.
"This is gonna be your big break! Go for it!" sabik niyang saad.
"Huwag mo kaming ka-kalimutan. Bata ka pa kaya sigurado akong matalas pa rin ang memorya mo." sabat ni West.
I can really tell that their support is genuine. They're pushing me to go forward, even I can't believe that this is really happening for real. It's like things are pacing too fast and one thing just leads to another.
"And that's not all," I halted their momentum of celebration. "They're currently making articles for the next issue of the magazine they're about to release for this month of November, and they're asking for the Sewing Club's cooperation in being featured in that issue, along with a series of photoshoots to include for the article."
"Omg, omg, omg...I don't know how would I express how proud we are of your achievements right now." reaksyon pa ni Wendy.
"Yeah, you just expressed something." usal ni West.
"When's the photoshoot?" nakangiting tanong ni East. "We will go with you."
"Tomorrow." diretso kong sagot.
