"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Yes, I do. You wouldn't want to meet her." saad ko sa mga babaeng sumusunod sa 'kin.

"Aww. Sayang kuya, ang cute mo pa naman." pahabol ng isa sa kanila at sinubukang kumapit sa braso ko. Napatawa na lamang ako ng hilaw at naiilang na tinanggal ang braso nitong nakaangkla sa 'kin.

If only East isn't homeschooled, she could've driven these girls away.

"Anong name mo sa fb, Kuya?"

Napakaripas na lamang ako ng takbo papalayo sa building nang mamataan ang hagdanan pababa. I only went there to pass some requirements that East wants to submit to her professors.

I headed for my car in the parking area.

I stubbed my foot lightly on the deflated tires of my car before finally explaining my predicament to the guard on standby since he's on his night-shift.

Being hassled and forced to commute as the only option sucks. As I'm getting by on the taxi to get to the train station, I contacted East that I won't be able to make it early for dinner, but seconds after, my phone rang.

"Huwag ka munang dumiretso sa bahay. I'll send you my location." aniya at ibinaba ang tawag.

Ang bastos 'no?

After receiving the exact coordinates of location, I asked the driver to make a U-turn.

The location brought me to a five-star hotel. The rooftop's coruscating a spectrum of colorful spotlights from above. Although muffled because of the distance, I can hear there are voices rejoicing and clapping. I redialled East's phone.

"I'm here, outside of a restaurant hotel. What exactly is happening?"

"Guess."

"Lola's birthday?"

"No."

"A kiddie party?"

"Nice try."

"A funeral?"

"Ha-ha."

"My birthday party?"

"Nah. If you were to have a birthday party, it would be done in a kiddie pool."

"Fine, I give up."

"Proceed to the sixth floor."

"Mr. West Stanley Acosta?"

"Yeah."

"This way, please." inihatid ako nito sa elevator. There's only the two of us inside the lift and she keeps on staring at the elevator buttons.

"Miss."

"Y-Yes?"

"Ilang taon ka nang nagtatrabaho rito?"
