"And, that's how our Lauren managed to be chosen as one of the promising rookies for this year." rinig kong pagmamayabang ni Wendy sa kanila nang dumaan ako sa Archives' Section.
"If ever she accepts the offer and signs the contract, she'll probably be admitted to one of those prestigious universities in the country."

I'm now feeling better after I've talked to my father, and pondered about a lot of things. Earlier today, Coach Sandoval distributed some papers to us containing a new agreement about positions in the club, along with a farewell party for the seniors.

They were awarded with a lot of certificates and medals for their performance. They're bawling their eyes out even when the party's already starting.

This year, I'm still the captain. That's the only consistency that remained. The one elected for the position of the new vice captain is Chico. The former members, as usual, passed the tradition of mocking me to her. They even told her how to handle me when I'm being full of myself.

The program soon concluded as there are still classes prior to this day. Since our classes for today was shortened due to the program, I thought of dropping by here at the library.

Natigil naman sila sa pag-uusap nang makita akong nakatanaw sa kanila mula rito sa pintuan.

"Lauren!" tumakbo sa 'kin sina Wendy at pinalibutan ako ng mahigpit na yakap.

"Huwag mo kaming kakalimutan!" ngawa nilang lahat. Pilit naman akong humiwalay sa yakap dahil hindi ako makahinga. Masiyadong mahigpit ang yapos nila at halos maubusan na ako ng hangin.

"What are you talking about?" wika ko nang humiwalay sa kanila. "I don't have amnesia or anything."

"Kasalanan mo 'to, West! Nahahawa na si Lauren sa pagkapilosopo mo!" ani Wendy at dinuro-duro si West.

"I'm not even doing anything. Oh, technically, I'm still doing something because I'm speaking, and breathing." saad niya.

"You're gonna accept the offer, right?" sabik na tanong nila at lumapit pa sa 'kin dahilan upang mapaatras ako.

"I don't have a decision yet—"

"Why not?"

"Uhm, I'm still weighing things."

"You should." sagot ni Aero na nasa di-kalayuan at nagbabasa pa rin ng manga. Bigla na lamang siyang humikab, "If you accept the offer, then it's possible that you can travel overseas, even to Japan, if ever you're fortunate to play in the overseas league and olympics. That way, you can buy me bundles of manga."

"Aero." tawag sa kaniya ni East at tinitigan ito.

"Ah, sorry. Even so, you should go if your heart tells you to. Maybe you can find your lover there while you're starting your career. Right, Baldo?"

"Why the heck are you asking me?" iritadong sabat ni Baldo habang pinapaikot sa kaniyang kamay ang isang paintbrush.

"Nothing. I speculated that you maybe have some thoughts or insights to share to us?"

"And what would I even share with you? Remember that you crashed into my apartment weeks ago. I don't think there's still something I haven't shown you. If you'll excuse me." aniya at lumabas.

"Don't you think there's something wrong with him today?" tanong ko.

"No. He's always cranky, you should ask what's wrong with him if he starts treating us nicely and being gentle to everyone." sagot ni Wendy at umakbay sa 'kin.
