The rays of the sunshine from the window laid their fingers on my cheek. I squirmed as I rolled over to the bed.

I peeked from the blanket and I'm relieved when I saw I'm fully clothed.

I tried to recall what happened last night.

It rained. I stayed at Baldo's place.

Right, where is he?

"Good morning, too. Did you have a good sleep?"

"Hmm." I nodded.

After last night, the heavy feeling that I've been carrying on my chest seemed to disappear now.

I slightly grasped on my chest and started feeling my heartbeats as I stared at him. A little bit tightening, but every beat is extremely satisfying to feel.

It hit me.

"Salamat."

Geez... geez... geez.

It's a good thing that the flight wasn't cancelled. But my sloppiness doesn't really choose its timing, huh?

It's quite messy but I forced my hairbrush to smoothen it.

"I thought your Mom's going home last night?" I asked him while he's in the kitchen and placing the bread to the toaster.

"Akala ko rin." sagot niya.

"She must've stayed at the bar." wika ko.

"She's no longer working there." he answered sheepishly.

Natigilan ako.

"What do you mean?" I checked on my passport and documents as soon as I've finished dressing myself.

"Hindi na siya nagtatrabaho sa bar. As of now, she's working on customer service under Tohru's new company."

"That's good, then."

All good. Buti naman at wala akong nakalimutan.

"Agree. It's better than worrying every night about her and her work."

SHMWOP!

I heard the toaster clicked. Baldo also turned off the microwave.

"Lauren, breakfast." he said, coming from the kitchen.

I took a bite from the omelette that he made. "Your cooking improved. I can remember you almost burning tofu when you bragged that you're good at frying."

"I was just nervous that time!"

"What are you nervous for? The cooking oil splashing from the pan?" I grinned as I took a spoonful in my mouth. Lalo lamang akong natatakam sa bawat subo.
