"If you don't want to, can I? Hey, East! You'd allow it, right?"
"Let me sleep for two more hours. Utang na loob." I plugged a pillow on my ear and rolled on the other side, turning away from her.
It's just five in the morning yet Claudia's already pestering me here in my room.
Sa totoo lang, papatulog palang ako. The novel that I've been reading kept me on the edge of my seat and so, it took me a few hours. And here I swore that I'll only read at least a hundred pages before going to bed. On the other hand, hadn't I read more, I'll still remain awake as long as I'm curious of what's about to happen to the characters.
"Please~" she climbed on the bed and turned one corner of the pillow up whispering, "I'll buy you lots of hardbound books as much as you want."
"Get lost, Claudia. Don't you have work to do?" I annoyingly shooed her away.
"That depends, whether you'll let me in it or not." she lied down on the same pillow as mine and treaded over my hair. "I need an answer right now."
"Then my answer's no."
"Oh, come on. You don't seem to be planning on going anyway. Sayang yung ticket!" pagmamaktol niya.
"Don't make me face you and tweeze every single hair in your head with my hand." I warned as I pulled my pillow away from her.
Finally, she has decided to leave me alone.
Fridays will always have those feels: the sense of feeling like you're already at the last phase of weekdays and the time to take it easy after struggles to make it to this day ever since Monday.
Hindi pa man nakakatatlumpung minuto mula nang makaidlip ako ay tumunog na ang alarm clock na nasa bedside table. My head's throbbing from the inside like those of a drunk's hangover. Teary-eyed, I made the bed and decided to change on my casual clothes.
I went to West's room and found him sleeping in a funny position, as usual.
"Wake up, you need to give me a ride."
"Mommy, please let me sleep for five days more." he grunted and slapped my hand away.
"Is that so? Should I send Wendy a picture of you sleeping with your feet trying to reach over your head like you're trying to be a doughnut?"
The mention of Wendy's name seem to have brought him back to reality.
"Let's go." he addressed as soon as he got up from bed, squirming his lips filled with dried saliva.
"Maybe you should bother about putting some clothes on." I reminded him.
Nanlaki ang mata niya at dali-dali akong tinulak palabas sa kuwarto niya. "Didn't I tell you not to come in on my room whenever I'm sleeping?"
He must be rummaging on his closet right now. I can hear the sounds of the hangers hitting the floor and his bed.
"You're acting like I haven't seen it all when you used to run around all over the house naked when we're toddlers." I replied, "Although I don't really care."
"Shut up!" binuksan niya ang pinto at tinulungan akong bumaba sa hagdan.
"I have an urgent schedule today." saad ko. "I need to go on a mall."
"Why? You gonna haul on new clothes that you're not going to wear once you bought it?"
Shots fired on the last part, but that's not the particular reason why I'm going.
