CHAPTER 44 - ARKHEION

JUST like the RS or Restricted Section, the Arkheion is located in the CRAM library premise. But the Arkheion does not have any guardians to test the strongest students.

It only needs a professor-level access card.

"What happened back there?" bulong sa akin ni Kent sabay hawak sa braso ko.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"You don't know? You are seducing me in front of Thade and Hailey Shade."

"Seduction is my middle name. I can even kiss you in front of them."

"So this is just a game to you? You are flirting with me the way you flirted with Xadrian Ferrero?"

"Oh hello stalker! How did you know that I was flirting with him? Sinusundan mo ba ko ng patago?"

"What if sinusundan nga kita? Anong gagawin mo?"

"Wala akong gagawin, Kent. I think you should be the one who needs to do something."

"Like what? Like pulling you in a dark corridor and we can fuck our hearts out?"

"That sounds like a plan."

Tumawa lang ako kay Kent, pero umiling lang ito sa akin na parang naiinis. Alam ko naman na hindi niya ito gagawin. Bukod sa may makakakita sa amin, malaki ang respeto niya kay Uncle Mason.

"May apat na wooden ports dito sa lake ng CRAM library. Apat din ba ang portal-doors dito?" tanong ni Hailey habang naglalakad kami sa malawak na grassland ng CRAM Library.

"The first one is for the Main Library, the other two portals are for the RS and Arkheion. As for the fourth port, no one knows where it will lead us. Professor Kent, alam mo ba kung saan papunta ang fourth port?" tanong ni Thade sa kanya.

"No idea. I guess somewhere dangerous where we should not put our noses on," sagot niya kay Thade sabay irap sa akin.

Just like what happened when we entered the RS, we need the power of invisibility to access the Arkheion. No one can see the wooden ports that lead to the portal doors unless we are invisible. Only the wooden port of the main CRAM library is visible to other witches and wizards without the power of invisibility.

Kent used his Flippies that served as his access card and the portal to Arkheion suddenly opened.

"Welcome to the Arkheion. And thank you for using me," sarcastic na sabi sa akin ni Kent nang makapasok kami sa loob.

"Hindi ka namin ginagamit, Professor Kent. Pero kung gusto mo, puwede mo bang ipagamit muli sa akin ang katawan mo?"

Hahawakan ko sana ang braso ni Kent, pero mabilis niyang pinigilan ang kamay ko.

"We only have a month remaining here, Andreyah. And guess where I will be spending my time after my classes here in CRAM?"

"So coffeeshop mo sa Saint-Tropez?"

"I will spend my time punishing a very bad girl. A naughty witch to be specific."

"That would be nice, Professor Kent. I am quite sure that the naughty witch is looking forward to it. Pero bakit ka pa maghihintay ng isang buwan kung puwede naman ngayon?"

"Yeah, that is actually a good idea. Why should I wait for that long if I can punish her maybe tomorrow?"

Sasagot pa sana ako kay Kent nang tinawag siya ni Thade para humingi ng access sa library terminal. Mabilis na binasa ni Thade ang ilang mga libro at scrolls kung saan may impormasyon tungkol sa Arcane Lord na si Riku Nakamura. Ang lahat ng mga ito ay hindi available sa main library ng CRAM.

Ang Arkheion ay may isang terminal na nagsisilbing nitong computer kumpara sa labindalawang terminal ng main library. Karamihan ay mga lumang libro ang nandito sa Arkheion.

"Can someone tell me why are we after the most powerful wizard right now?" tanong ni Kent habang naglalabas ng mga libro sa library terminal.

"He is after Hailey. There is a good chance that he is after her Dark Magic," sagot ko sa kanya habang nagbabasa din ng libro.

"Or maybe, the Arcane Lord is also concerned about the safety of the Ultima Incantatrix?"

"Kent, naalala mo ang tatlong murders na nangyari sa magkakaibang school? What if ang Arcane Lord ang may gawa nito? His office has portal doors directly to the three schools of magic."

"Masyadong mabigat na paratang 'yan. I do not know much about the Arcane Lord, but he is the master of all types of magic. He was a former Dark Arts professor. He knows the excruciating side of effects of Dark Magic."

"But he will gain more power if he controls the magic of Ultima Incantatrix."

"Andreya, we do not know that. We don't even know if Hailey's dark magic can be controlled. It is one of a kind."

"Guys, I think you need to see this!" sabi ni Thade sa amin.

Lumapit kami lahat kay Thade at ipinakita niya sa amin ang karamihan ng mga libro tungkol kay Riku Nakamura. Karamihan dito ay maikling article lang at saglit lang nabanggit ang Arcane Lord.

"Professor Kent, there is nothing useful here. All of these books are just basic details about the Arcane Lord. Arkheion is the archives section accessible to all professors, but there must be another layer of the library we do not know about. A portion that probably even the Provost cannot access. How about the fourth portal?"

"Thade, tulad ng sabi ko sa inyo, wala din akong alam sa existence ng fourth library portal. I even asked Mason and the tenured professors, wala din silang alam."

"What if the fourth portal is no longer existing? What if the doorway was already sealed so no one can access this?" tanong ni Hailey sa amin.

Napatigil sa pagsasalita si Kent nang may itinuro si Hailey sa isang malayong pader.

"Dear, what are you looking at?" tanong ko sa kanya dahil tila may nakikita siya sa pader na hindi namin nakikita.

"A red door. Bakit may pulang pintuan dito sa Arkheion? Stock room?"

Tumingin lang ako kay Kent at kay Thade, pero mukhang wala silang nakikitang pinto. Mukhang si Hailey lang ang nakakakita nito.

"Hailey, dear. We cannot see this door that you are pointing at, but it is highly possible that this is the fourth portal door. You have Magic Nullification and Magic Magnification. These are two unique talents. Bihira lang sa isang wizard ang magkaroon ng dalawang rare ability."

"Or it is just a red door that needs to stay hidden. Come on, kids. Let us get out of here," sabi ni Kent na pinapalabas na kami ng Arkheion.

"I can try to open it if you want. Susubukan ko po pumasok. Just let me know kung anong gagawin ko."

"That is dangerous, Hailey. Hindi natin alam kung anong ang nasa likod ng pinto na 'yan. Pagagalitan ako ni Mason kapag nalaman niya na pinayagan ko kayo sa kalokohan niyo."

Ngumiti lang kami ni Thade pareho kay Kent. It means that the three of us have already decided to enter this red room.
