BUMALIK kami ni Mason sa CDC gamit ang magical portal ng Arcane Lord. Naiwan naman si Maiko kasama ng Arcane Lord sa Bordeaux, France. Marahil ay hahanapin ng Arcane Lord kung may kasabwat na ibang dark witches si Maiko.

"Maiko Razon is part of the Razenstein Coven? Kailan pa ito nalaman ng Arcane Lord?" tanong ko kay Mason nang sinamahan niya ko pabalik sa designated room ko sa CDC.

"Riku already had visions about Jezebel's rebirth and the Razenstein Coven when he was young. He was caught using Blackahlia flowers as he was trying to find out if there are any witches who know about this kind of flower."

"Alam na ba niya noon pa na si Maiko ay kabilang sa Razenstein Coven?"

"Not yet, but he has his suspicions. Maiko's older sister named Marichu Razon was a former classmate of the Arcane Lord. Marichu was caught using Blackahlia flowers together with Riku when they were still students."

"At nagtiwala agad si Marichu Razon sa Arcane Lord?"

"Riku Nakamura has his ways. He gets what he wants, even if it involves playing with someone else's feelings."

"May relasyon ang Arcane Lord at si Marichu Razon noon?"

"Don't ask me. It is just a hunch."

Inutusan ako ni Mason na humiga sa kama at saka niya ko nilagyan ng kumot. Madaling araw pa lang dito sa Japan at may ilang oras pa ko para matulog. Palabas na sana si Mason ng kwarto nang mabilis ko na hinawakan ang braso niya.

"Don't leave me," mahina ko na sabi sa kanya.

"I don't think we should be in the same room, Hailey."

"Mason, I feel hot."

"See? That's not good. The last time you felt that way, you were rubbing my---"

"Hotdog?"

"To put it lightly, yes. Matulog ka na, baka kung ano pa gawin ko sa'yo. Hihintayin ko lang si Riku. Pag-uusapan namin kung anong plano kay---"

Umupo si Mason sa kama at hinawakan ang noo ko. Naramdaman niya din na inaapoy ako ng lagnat.

"Fuck! You sound like Riku! Fuck-deprived people!" natatawa na sagot ni Mason at niyaya ako na bumangon sa kama.

"Saan tayo pupunta?"

"Sa opisina ni Riku. There is something wrong with you. We need to find him."

Pagbalik namin ng opisina ay nandoon na ang Arcane Lord na si Riku Nakamura, pero hindi niya na kasama si Maiko Razon.

"Where is the Maiko?" tanong ni Mason sa kanya.

"I sent her to Provost Hagel. She will be staying in a prison cell in Denmark during the duration of her trial. Oh by the way, Maiko is gone. I interrogated her and it seems Jezebel was in charge of her body. She is good in dark magic, but I think she underestimated my existence, the supreme Arcane Lord," sagot ni Riku sabay halakhak na parang nasisiraan ng ulo.

"May kulungan ng mga dark witches and wizards?" tanong ko sa Arcane Lord.

"Yes, this is located in Denmark. Dark magic wielders will stay there depending on their crimes. Some are lucky to be given parole if they surrendered their dark magic. Some are considered unlucky and were sentenced with beheading."

"Beheading? Ano tayo nasa medieval times?"

Napatigil sa pagsasalita ang Arcane Lord at napatingin sa akin. He waved his hand and all of the lights inside his office quickly turned off. Biglang dumilim ang kanyang opisina, pero nakapagtataka na parang may lumalabas na liwanag sa akin.

"Oh little dark witch, why are you glowing?" tanong niya sa akin at bumukas lahat ang ilaw.

"Riku, what is happening? Why the fuck is she glowing?"

"Maiko did not just attack both of you. She exposed you to a destructive type of dark magic. Damn it!"

"Wait lang po, sasabog na po ako? Akala ko ba makaka-graduate pa ako?"

"Hailey, my little dark witch, you will not last for another six months. You will only last for a few hours. We need to send you away as far as possible. Mason, it is time to call your brother and your stepsister. I will arrange for our transport," nagmamadali na sabi ni Riku bago tuluyan na lumabas.

Umupo si Mason sa sofa na hawak ang ulo. Hindi niya rin siguro akalain na ngayon na ang araw kung kailan ako sasabog.

"Mason, sino ang tinutukoy ng Arcane Lord na kapatid mo?"

"My parents. Akala niya kapatid ko sila."

"Mason, kung itutuloy mo ang plano mo na pumunta sa The Void, sasama ako. Just bring me there. You don't need to die because of me."

"Damn it, Hailey! You don't need to die either!"

"My death is already written in the stars. My fate is to go kaboom! Alam natin pareho na ang end game ko ay mala-nuclear explosion. Kailangan ko makapunta sa The Void para doon sumabog. "This is our Plan B in case hindi dumating ang parents mo. Tama ba?"

"Yes, our Plan A is to go to The Void. We need to go to Oran, Algeria as this is where the gateway is located."

Itinuro niya sa akin kung saan ang sinasabing Oran, Algeria, pero hindi ko inaasahan na uupo ito sa sofa at iiyak sa harapan ko.

"Hey Mason, why are you crying?"

"I am just not ready yet, Hailey. Alam ko na maikli lang ang oras natin. Hindi ko alam na mas maikli pa ito sa inaasahan ko."

"It will be fine. I just need to explode somewhere in The Void and we will save the day."

"You are talking casually about your death."

"Kung ito ang kapalaran ko, tatanggapin ko. At least nakilala kita. Nakilala ko ang mga kaibigan ko sa CRAM. Naramdaman ko na concerned kayo sa akin kahit isa akong dark witch na mitsa ng isang apocalypse. I felt loved, Mason. Maybe imagination ko lang. Maybe assuming lang ako, pero naramdaman ko. Naramdaman ko na mahal mo ko."

Kung kanina ay masaya kaming dalawa na naghaharutan, ngayon naman ay umiiyak si Mason sa harapan ko. Bigla niya akong niyakap ng mahigpit na tila ayaw na niya akong pakawalan.

"You are not assuming things. What you felt is real, Hailey."

And that is the last thing that he said before claiming lips.
