CHAPTER 84 - MARK

POV HAILEY

HINAWAKAN ni Mason ang kamay ko at itinago ako sa kanyang likuran. Wala na akong dark magic powers at kahit si Mason ay hindi kayang mag-teleport paalis dito.

"I was hoping to see my favorite three humans, but sadly, one got away."

Humalakhak si Provost Hagel na parang nasisiraan ng bait. Hindi ito ang nakilala namin na Provost ng CRAM. Dahan dahan kami umaatras ni Mason palayo sa kanya, pero napatigil ako sa paghakbang nang makita ko ang ilang tao sa likuran namin.

Lahat sila ay may tattoo sa noo tulad ng marka sa palad ko noon. Marahil ay mga dark witches and wizards prisoners na pinakawalan ni Provost Hagel at ginawang mga minions ni Ahabaddon.

"Provost, sino po ang tinutukoy niyo na tatlong tao?"

"You, my Ultima Incantatrix. Mason Elizalde and of course, the Arcane Lord Riku Nakamura. The three of you brought me back to life and gave me so much power."

Humalakhak siya ulit na parang nasa kanya ang tagumpay at kitang kita ko na lumitaw ang pulang marka sa kanyang noo.

The mark of the destroyer. The mark of Ahabaddon.

"Provost Hagel, alam ko na nandyan ka pa sa katawan mo! You have to fight Ahabaddon! You are not a bad guy! Ikaw ang Dumbledore namin! Hindi ka pwedeng maging kalaban!" sigaw ko sa kanya.

"My poor, Hailey Shade. Do you really think I possessed Provost Hagel Bohr? He voluntarily offered his body to me. That is why he allowed the young Riku Nakamura and Marichu Razon to summon me and Jezebel in the Aquamarine Dungeon. For years, the CRAM was led by none other than the Destroyer himself, the great Ahabaddon," sagot niya sabay tawa na naman.

"Hailey, what are you doing?" bulong ni Mason.

"Delaying tactics. Baka sakali bumalik ang Arcane Lord."

"We are trapped. I don't think we can get out of here."

"Mason, hindi tayo pwedeng mamatay. You promised to marry me!"

"I will fucking marry you right away once we get out of here. Just do your thing. The ancient demon seems exhilarated to answer your queries."

Inikot ni Mason ang paningin niya para humanap ng daan para makatakas dito. Ang tangi kong nakikita na exit way ay ang isang hagdanan pataas.

Humarap ako kay Provost Hagel slash Ahabaddon. Kung papatayin niya kami ni Mason, tingin ko ay wala din naman kaming ligtas. Kailangan ko lang siyang libangin. Sana lang ay bumalik agad ang Arcane Lord para tulungan kami.

"Pero Provost Hagel, kayo po ang Provost ng CRAM! You are like a father to us! We trusted you and we believed in you! How can you do this to us? It hurts, you know? Hindi ba kami importante sa'yo?"

Tinaasan lang ako ng kilay ni Mason dahil sa ma-drama ko na acting sa harapan ng Provost. Kailangan ko mag-drama para maka-tiyempo kami ng takbo papunta sa hagdanan.

"The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. Do you know where I have learned this?"

"Saan po?"

"In Pinterest."

"Akala ko po you have learned it based from your life experience. Pero maiba ko, Provost Hagel also known as Ahabaddon. Paano po hindi na-detect ng Magic Bureau ang inyong dark magic? Paki-explain naman po."

"Part of my plan, my child. I need to conceal my dark magic until Mason Elizalde successfully sends my mark to The Void. I have been collecting a huge amount of dark magic for one sole purpose. To detect the emergence of the Ultima Incantatrix."

"Kasama po sa plano niyo ang pagpunta ni Mason sa The Void? Ang galing niyo naman."

"Not exactly my plans, but my master's plans. My beloved king's plans. Mason was his favorite years ago," sagot nito sabay halakhak na naman.

Mas prefer ko kausap si Provost Hagel Bohr. Kahit seryoso ito sa kakaiba niyang European accent, hindi ito tawa ng tawa tulad ni Ahabaddon. Nakakalungkot lang na nagpa-alipin siya sa isang ancient demon na may saltik.

"Mason, nawalan yata ng turnilyo sa ulo si Ahabaddon. Bakit tawa ng tawa?" bulong ko uli sa kanya.

"He probably knows that he already won this battle."

"Sino ang master na tinutukoy niya?"

"The Immundus Cassus. He manipulated me before. We have a dark history. He knows that I will sacrifice my life to save yours. Kaya pala ang Provost ang unang may alam tungkol sa'yo, siya pala ang may pakana ng lahat. He used the dark magic of the Razenstein Coven to locate you."

"Pero bakit kailangan na pumunta ka sa The Void?"

"I think he wants to leave his mark in there, the mark of the Destroyer. He will probably use all of the dark magic of the Razenstein Coven to open the seals of The Void. To destroy the seal from the inside using his mark and the seal from the outside using this tremendous dark magic."

"Possible 'yon?"

"Ahabaddon was an ancient demon. He is known as the Destroyer. He was trapped in the unknown as he was capable of destroying the seals of The Void, but Riku summoned his power using the sacrificial magic. Riku is probably not aware that he was a powerful wizard in his young age."

Naputol ang bulungan namin ni Mason nang biglang tumawa na naman si Provost Hagel Bohr. Napaatras ako sa kanya nang mapansin ko na unti unting nagbabago ang kanyang mukha. From Provost Hagel's wrinkled face, I am now facing a young man in his early thirties.

Kahit si Maiko ay nagbago ng anyo. Nagmukha siyang isang reyna, parang isang Egyptian princess na may eyeliner pa. Hindi pa natapos ang pagkagulat namin at biglang lumabas ang dalawang itim na pakpak sa likod ni Ahabaddon.

"Mason, I don't think Ahabaddon is just an ancient demon."

"I have never seen any creatures with black wings before, but I think we are dealing with a---"

"A black angel? A demon with uwak blood?"

"Or a former Guardian who was erased in history. It explains why the Razenstein Coven is so dedicated to him even after thousands of years. It explains why he was not in The Void, but was imprisoned in another place. Riku unleashed a forgotten Guardian."

"Alam kaya ito ng parents mo?"

"I don't think so. Their main task is to guard the seals of The Void and the other world. Ahabaddon's history is way back before the creation of earth."

"Mason, how can we defeat a Guardian-level creature that has a massive amount of dark magic in his hands?"

"I don't think we have means to defeat him. He is definitely out of our league."

Tumingin lang ako kay Mason. Kahit ata tumakbo kami ay hindi kami makakatakas kay Ahabaddon. Mukhang alam ko na ang kasasapitan namin sa kamay ng isang evil Guardian.
