CHAPTER 43 - POTION

POV HAILEY

SA loob ng dalawang buwan, marami akong natutunan dito sa CRAM. Unfortunately, wala talaga akong magical talent.

Hindi ako marunong mag-cast ng spell at wala akong ability na magsummon ng elements. Ang tanging skill ko ay Magic Nullification at Magic Magnification, saka siguro ang kakaiba kong Dark Magic powers.

Ang naging libangan ko ay Potion Creation. Para lang itong chemistry kung saan magcocombine ako ng mga chemicals, pero imbes na chemicals, mga rare ingredients daw ito. Na-process na daw ang karamihan nito kaya nasa powder form na. Pagkatapos ng combination ng ingredients, si Professor Kent na ang bahala magcast ng spell para maging official Potion ito.

"As you have learned in your Potion Creation subject, we have different types of potions. Some are for healing and some are for enhancing magical abilities. I created a potion called the UI Potion. This is specifically made to suppress your Dark Magic," sabi ni Professor Kent habang nasa loob kami ng laboratory.

"Wala bang ibang estudyante ang interesado sa Potion Creation bukod sa akin?"

"They are busy enhancing their Elemental Magical skills. Sadly, you do not have one. You are stuck here with me. Ayaw mo ba ko kasama? Mas gusto mo na si Mason ang kasama mo?"

"Wala naman akong choice, Professor Kent. Hindi ako talented kaya hanggang dito lang ako pwede. Saka gusto kitang kasama. Isang nerd na pogi na talented sa mga potions. Bakit hindi ka gumawa ng gayuma?"

"Huwag ka maingay. Nasa bucket list ko na 'yan."

Nagtawanan lang kami pareho ni Professor Kent. Kaya siguro nakasundo siya ni Mason ay dahil mabait ito. Duwag nga lang pero may mabuting puso.

"Can I borrow the queen of the underworld?"

Boses ni Rayah ang nagpatigil sa usapan namin ni Professor Kent. Kasama niya si Thade, pero wala si Xyder at si Maiko.

"Why would you like to borrow her? The king of the underworld himself asked me to look after her," masungit na sagot ni Professor Kent sa kanya.

"May pupuntahan kami ni Hailey. And it is none of your business, Kent."

"Hailey is my business, Ms. Evans. And it is Professor Kent."

"I don't remember calling you Professor Kent when we were alone in the same room in Saint-Tropez. For me, it is just Kent."

"You must be dreaming, Ms. Evans. You are moaning my name with the word professor on it."

"Oh really? Naalala mo pa rin? You must have been savoring it every night, Professor Kent."

"I must admit, I still do."

"Stop stop stop! Bawal mag-away slash landian sa harap namin ni Thade! Saan tayo pupunta, Rayah?"

"In the Arkheion."

"At saan naman 'yon?"

"If the RS or the Restricted Section of the library contains dark objects that cannot be seen by other students, the Arkheion holds hidden documents that are not available in the CRAM library."

"And you all know that only the Provost and the CRAM professors have access to the Arkheion. How are you planning to get inside that fortress? Kids?" tanong ni Professor Kent sa amin.

Lumapit si Rayah kay Professor Kent. This time, dahan dahan siyang naglakad palapit dito na parang inaakit ito. Tumigil ito sa harapan ni Professor Kent at inayos ang kanyang collar.

"You said Hailey is your business. Well, how about accompanying us to the Arkheion, Professor Kent," she said using her most seductive voice.

"What if I say no?"

"You can't say no to me, Kent Doherty. You always say yes to me," bulong niya kay Professor Kent na tila nilalapit ang labi dito.

"Okay fine! Just so you know, I am just doing this as a favor. Your Uncle Mason is a good friend of mine and---"

"Thank you, Kent. Professor Kent. Or whatever you would like me to call you."

Dahan dahan niyang hinahaplos ang dibdib ni Professor Kent. Hindi ko alam kung pinaglalaruan niya lang ito o nasasabik na din siya dito.

"Ate Rayah, mamaya na ang harutan. Let us go to the Arkheion. Akala ko ba hahanapin natin ang mga nasusulat tungkol kay Riku Nakamura?" sabi ni Thade.

"Riku Nakamura? The Arcane Lord? You are going to use the Arkheion to research more about him? Kids, I did not sign up for this! Your search results will show under my Professor login details!"

"Kaya nga kasama natin si Thade. He will read all the archived books and documents related to the Arcane Lord. He can do it in less than an hour. If you will give him a potion that will enhance his photographic memory, he might be able to do it in a matter of minutes. We just need your door access to the Arkheion."

"Tama si Ate Rayah, Professor Kent. Kailangan lang po namin makapasok sa loob ng Arkheion. She already prepared a spell to conceal us and to remove your details from the server. It is like we are searching using Incognito Mode, but the safer version. No traces whatsoever."

"Mukhang prepared na naman kayo sa inyong adventure. Nasaan ang inyong Uncle Mason? Bakit hindi siya ang tanungin niyo?"

"Kausap niya si Provost Mykyta Kushnir kasama si Provost Hagel. Sabi niya, ikaw daw ang kulitin namin," sagot ni Thade sabay kamot ng ulo.

Nagbuntong hininga lang si Professor Kent. Tama naman si Rayah at si Thade. Kahit lumitaw din ang login details ni Professor Kent sa Arkheion, iisipin lang ng makakakita dito ay nag-scan lang siya ng documents tungkol sa Arcane Lord.

Wala naman mag-iisip na kaya niyang basahin ang napakaraming libro sa loob ng maikling minuto.
