We all must be familiar with this term. All of us would have been bullied by some one or the other at some point of our life and might have even bullied others.
Bullying others and getting bullied is very common now-a-days. Usually it is done just for fun but it can severely affect the one who is getting bullied. Since now the children have started spending most of their time on phone, laptops and other social platforms; bullying has started taking place online which we call cyber bullying. There's no particular reason why cyberbullying is done but it's just done to demean, harass or make fun of others.
Cyber bullying includes offensive name-calling, spreading false rumours about someone or to say some aggressive words. Impacts of cyberbullying are more devastating than we can ever think of. Those who are the victims of this become under confident and find it difficult to adjust at any public place. They also suffer from anxiety, sleeping disorders and sometimes even depression. Cyber bullying can also lead to a person to do suicide.
The children who are cyber bullied get so scared that they don't even tell anyone that they are being bullied. The cyber bullies might be threatening them to be quiet and not to tell anyone. Though there are no specific ways by which we can get to know if a person is being bullied or not, until and unless they speak on their own but still there are some things which we can note to identify such people.
▪ They'll be very secretive about their phones and electronic devices. ▪ Wouldn't want to go to school or would fall sick easily. ▪ The academic performance would come down. ▪ Can even steal money from friends and families. ▪ They would have negative mood changes.
There are many cyberbullies who are even unaware of the fact that they are being a bully. They just feel that it's fun to spread rumours about someone or threaten them online. If you ever feel that you are being bullied by someone socially then just don't reply to their messages and block them, talk to someone elder whom you feel would understand it.
It's a duty of every parent or guardian as well to keep a proper vigilance on their children. If ever found that someone known to you is being bullied then don't under or over react or make fun of that person but beunderstanding and provide them support, care and a happy environment.
Many of the states have made laws regarding it which require schools to respond to bullying and take strict measures against it.If any case of cyber bullying is found then they need to be reported to school and then schools take action under the laws. Cyberbullying is a crime which needs to stop now.
Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
