Varanasi or Banaras, is a renowned tourist destination and one of the oldest city in the world with over 88 ghats along the bank of river Ganga;holiest river in India. Each year it welcomes thousands of tourist from all around the world in search of spiritual Upliftment. The city is known for its ganga ghats, beautiful historic monument, the small chaotic alleyways of temple town bustling with people pulsating life style.

Ghats in Varanasi are riverfront steps leading to the banks of the River Ganges. The city has 88 ghats. Most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremony ghats, while two ghats are used exclusively as cremation sites.

According to the puranic sources, there are five key ghats on the riverfront, important because of their association with a defining feature of the holy city of Kashi: Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Panchganga Ghat, Rajendra Pras...

After your soul gets what it wish it's time for your mouth and belly to have a lip-smacking food and when it comes to food the city offers a lot from buttered taost with kadak chai in the morning, kachori sabji for the breakfast, drinking thandai on your exploration, and ending your day with a plate of chaat next to a sadhu on the stairs of one of the ghat with a lesson of life and looking at infinities of ganga river which is adored by small diyas floating and taking message of each devotee to it's destination.

Stuffed makhhan toast :- start your day with local bread toasted on coal oven with loads of makkhan and a pinch of chaat masala and a kadak chai.

Kachori sabji:- a Fulllfilling and wholesome breakfast of kachori stiffed with spicy potatoes or lentils and spicy potato for sabji.

Thandai :- it is a flavored milk
Popular version to try is kesaria thandai.  

Chooda mattar:- a long lost sister of poha. Flattened rice soaked in ghee and stir fried with green peas and spices.

Baati chokha:- popular food found on the streets of varanasi. Indian bread filled with chatpatta sattu and  served with chokha a mash of baked brinjal, boiled potato, tomatoes and spices.

Banarsi paan:- your tour is never complete till you have the banarasi paan full of rich flavours.
