♠️Edinburgh - A City Of Gothic Horror♠️ Written by - Abigail_gif
Edinburgh is sort of a gothic fairytale city, and it can be a gothic horror city as well.
- David MacKenzie
It is no exaggeration when someone says that Edinburgh is a city out of fairy tale. Well, let's be honest, who'd think of naming unicorns as the national animal? The Scots believe that unicorns are brave and strong enough to trample over lions and elephants. They are lovers of myths, legends and definitely fairy tales.
As far as the interests of scots go, Edinburgh is indeed a magical city. The mesmering architechure of the pale brown walls come from the early medieval times, yes, the most used and loved set up in our favourite fantasy or historical fictions or classics. A morning walk with the sweet melody of bagpipes toiling in your ear doesn't sound bad either.
But, wait, why haven't we thought that it could also make the best horror site?
As much as the pleasant tales of bravery and courtship enhances Edinburgh's reputation as the city out of fairy tales, the dungeons and tunnels spread under the city of Edinburgh, along with the infamous Edinburgh Castle adds to it's reputation of, one of the most haunted cities in the world.
Edinburgh castle itself hosts four gruesome tales of spine chilling horror while the graveyards, underground tunnels, and even a loyal dog adds to terror of the fairy tale city.

What can be more horrifying than a little ghost boy appearing with the sound of meshy pipes?
Underneath the city of Edinburgh lies another city of dark tunnels and vaults. This was the original city of Edinburgh over which the current city has been built. Even till this day, the underground city is buried in mystery and ghostly tales, one of which is the tale of the Piper Boy.
The Edinburgh Castle, built as a military stronghold has a number of tunnels and dungeons underground. It was around the time when a number of tunnels were discovered underneath the castle. Naturally, people wondered where the tunnels would lead. However, the entrance one such tunnel was so small that only the Piper Boy would fit in.
The little boy was sent in to the trudge the path of the tunnel along with his bagpipes. He was instructed to keep playing his pipes as loud as he could while the men followed the sound and traced him from above the ground. This went well for a short time but the pipes suddenly stopped under Tron Kirk, a church.
Rescue attempts were made, various search parties were deployed but the boy wasn't found again. With his disappearance, the tunnel was sealed off. However, they say that you can still hear him playing his pipes in the tunnels under the castle in the late hours of night.
