♠️Swirling Tornado♠️
Written by- _arshi___You must think this is something related to tornadoes, the ones with the power to destroy everything in their way. The ones which are difficult to fight against.
You're not wrong but not exactly right either. Here's what this 'swirling tornado' means.
Has this ever happened to you? You are willing to do so much but end up doing nothing because of being lazy, angry, confused, burdened, etc.
Maybe you understand by now that the thousands of thoughts that swirl in our minds create a fuss so strong and so big, you end up thinking continuously, trying to figure out your thoughts more than turning your motives into actions.
This mind we have is like the jinn from many stories you must have heard about in your school days who needs to work continuously. But you are probably thinking our minds do get tired. Have you ever wondered why?
Here's one way to explain it. Our mind is a network of nerves that are continuously working to transfer messages from one point to another. When we do nothing but keep thinking they are clogged in a manner one might think of having become numb.
If we find ourselves in this mindset where we feel stuck between loads of work and clogged up thoughts, neverending to-do lists, yet still suffer from procrastination. Here are a few things we can do to get rid of this tornado of thoughts.
First and foremost, pause your thinking system for a while by doing nothing or by doing something which will divert your mind from all the things that need your attention. For example, eat something which you like but make sure it has enough water content to keep you hydrated. Or you can also take a walk in a place where there are trees and a calm atmosphere like a park or your back garden. Or you can just sit somewhere with a cozy surrounding, with your favorite beverage so that your mind gets a break from everything going on in and around it.
Then start your list by first organizing your place of work. It helps your mind to work accordingly and working in a messy place that increases your stress levels.
Next, you can finish off the task you think is easier for you and which will take less time. In this way, you will be able to do more things in less time, and by the time you start cutting off you are to-do list, your mind will be already so indulged in the tasks at hand that you won't notice the flow of time, and as that scary tornado of thoughts will vanish without you noticing it in such a way that by the end, you won't even recall having had it.
The basic key to do things on time is to not keep thinking about them but get into action because the time we spend thinking about doing a certain action elaborates with the upcoming ideas of our mind each minute. So if you want to complete your task easily, just hold a pencil and notepad so that your thoughts don't just gather but are organized by themselves, thereby weaving your path right through the continuous waves of your thoughts and getting rid of the scary tornado then and there.
The main criteria of using a tornado as an example are that the way it destroys everything that comes in its way our thoughts also work in the same manner. The way a tornado takes birth by a little movement somewhere deep, our thoughts too develop with a simple idea, then comes the addition of wind and water the same way our mind occupies our thoughts that are our fears and shortcomings, our failures, and thousands of reasons to each and every little detail that might not even matter after a minute or two.
So we need to keep our state of mind stable the same way we tend to keep our physical health stable. A mind with a calm posture is much more useful than a healthy mind without any use.
Whenever you seem to be getting into deep thoughts or anything as such, start acting upon the things which are pending in your to-do list so that you are not driven into the depths of your tornado as it will not leave you until you are destroyed completely by exhausting you mentally and thereby weakening you physically as well.
In this pandemic, your mental health is as important as your physical health. With the news going around you have to fight your fears and shortcomings after that comes the coronavirus. Wishing you all good mental and physical health from Indian Legion. Stay safe, stay healthy.
Thank you!
Love and hugs
