♠Lame Trends On Social Media♠
Written by- NikkithaKJSocial media has crept it's way into our lives and now, it seems to have become an inseparable part of our lives.
Just give it a thought, a lot of us here spend at least an hour or so on social media and considering the quarantine norms, the time we spend online seems never-ending.
It is one thing to use social media to connect with our friends or relatives who stay miles away but, it is a whole lot different when you text your parents who live in the next room.
There's an Indian proverb: "Even nectar turns poisonous if consumed beyond limits."
I am not saying that social media is completely disastrous but, I think, everything should be used in limits. Now-a-days, more than connecting with our friends we are using social media to while away our time.
Have nothing to do? Pick up your phone! You won't even realise how time flew away!
And, one of the prime reasons for losing track of time when we are online is memes and lame trends.
Want to know the origin of a few such lame trends? Continue reading!
#JCBkiKhudai
I wasn't much surprised when I saw this trending. Think about it, most of us have seen crowds around excavators digging up dirt, haven't we?
#JCBkiKhudai became a national trend overnight when someone tweeted about an excavation in front of their house. The whole nation went gaga over this ordinary machine doing it's work.
You see what I meant by whiling away time?My business is my business, none of your business
Well, this isn't surprising. We tend to remember and use dialogues from movies in apt situations. But, we Indians are always a step ahead. Why wait for an apt situation! We believe in grabbing the dialogue and weaving apt situations for using it!
And, that's how a dialogue from Race 3 went viral!
Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe
Again, a dialogue, from one of the 90s Movies 'Nagin'. I'm sure most of us are going to laugh out loud when Amrish Puri delivers this dialogue the next time we happen to watch Nagin! All those hilarious memes will flash on our minds, won't they?
BinodHow often have you come across a person who gained popularity over a one-word YouTube comment?
Well, meet Binod Tharu, an ordinary person turned celebrity overnight, who decided to write his name as comments on YouTube videos. Who knew his 'self-love' would help him become famous?
Now, look at the comments on any post, the answers to all questions, it all sums up to one word. Binod!
Main thi? Tum thi? Kaun tha?Bolo kaun tha?
Do not underestimate the power of daily soaps! A dialogue doesn't always have to be from a movie to gain popularity, sometimes it can be from daily soaps too! A few days ago, if someone would've told me that a dramatic interrogative dialogue from an Indian daily soap would become this famous, I would have rolled on the floor laughing!
But, you see, time and tide waits for nobody; and, change is the only constant! Here we are, rapping the dialogue of an Indian show as if our lives depend on it! Kudos to Yashraj Mukhate for making it happen!
That's about it! Hilarious right?
Sometimes, even though we know we are not really being productive, we can't just help it. At such times, unlock your phone, login to your Twitter account, have a good laugh and enjoy your day! But, don't forget to get back to studies/work later; because remember, life is short and there's a lot we need to work for!
Love and hugs.
