♠SEX EDUCATION – AN IMPORTANT EDUCATION♠ Written by-Shraddha
Now, who wants to honour by throwing a bottle of holy water at my face as I will talk about ‘that’ topic. Yes, you guessed right. ‘That’ topic in biology which teachers don’t want to pronounce out loud and certainly some perverts find very amusing.
It’s hilarious to think that there are certain people who won’t even utter that word (and even if they utter, will get a shower under holy water), but will shamelessly read erotics on Wattpad. It’s hilarious to see Fifty Shades series is hated by all and those same people devour Chetan Bhagat and Durjoy Dutta (they are suddh desi stuff). That suitable Indian guy who talks about sex-after-marriage and later found cheating on his wife.
Now before you start criticizing me take a look at the screenshots below. If you don’t believe me, search on Google yourself.

So, what do you think causes these rapes? Short clothes? Beauty? Uncontrolled hormones? Or something greater than these?
If you ask me, my answer will be illiteracy. Now, you have the right to argue that what about the after marriage rapes in a literate household? Well, don’t you think that it is a kind of illiteracy too?
That’s where sex education and preliminary educations come handy. Sex education does not teach you to have sex. Trust me this is the weirdest rendition about sex education I have ever heard. Sex education, rather any type of education opens your mind giving you an option to think and reciprocate on your own. Education gives you freedom. Freedom to take your own decision, to distinguish between right and wrong. Freedom to say ‘No’.
Sex education, in India, has been categorized under Physical Education which again is an optional subject. But under the 2019 curriculum of CBSE, it has been made compulsory for students of all classes, from primary to higher secondary.
Our Constitution gives us ample freedom to say ‘No’. But how many women are aware of that? Sex education is the next big change in Indian society.
A proper comprehensive sexuality education refers to the K-12 programs that cover a vast range of topics that include human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behaviour, sexual health, and role of society and culture. A person with proper knowledge of sexuality and family planning will of course be a better citizen.
Sex is not a bad thing, it never was, it is a part of nature or you can say comes free with the package of life, although some people take others package too thinking their own. It’s all about your mindset.
Hence, give your children better sex education. So, that next time when he/she see a transgender, instead of shooing them away they would help them. So that next time they will think twice before raping someone. So, that they know the difference between right and wrong and will listen to the biology lecture without throwing at the pervy comment. And most importantly, be a better human.
I support the spread of sex education. Do you?
