Anorexia Nervosa is a mental and a life threatening sickness. It means a lack of urge for food or an inability to eat.

A person laid low with this sickness is constantly aware of his/her weight and their look. They attempt controlling their weight and shape and for that they start  limiting the quantity of meals they consume followed by intensive physical exercise.

They might also  even attempt to manage their calorie consumption through vomiting straight away after eating or through misusing laxatives.

No matter how much a person has lost weight, they constantly keep on worrying about their weight gain.

Also, eating disorders are in no way a choice. They simply happen like every other disorder. You will keep on skipping your meals  without even realizing and while you may, it'd be too late.

There will constantly be a voice coming out of your mind to prevent you from eating whenever you may even consider that.

Her stomach  was craving for food.

But her mind  was  saying 'No' each time.

She wanted to have it, relish it.

But then again her brain said 'No, Don't eat.'

She hardly took a morsel in her trembling hands.

The voice came 'Fat Fat Fat, Ugly Ugly Ugly'.

And this was it, she dropped the morsel and let her stomach crave for it.

Sounds scary, right? Well, it is.

Anorexia and other eating disorders may be fatal and death might occur suddenly.

We all know how food is essential for us however when it comes to eating disorders most of us take it as a small thing.

It isn't always just about food or gaining weight but sometimes the person tries to address emotional issues through skipping food and starving.

There is no exact cause of anorexia known but there are few factors which lead to this disorder.

▪︎ Biological  :- It may be genetic.

▪ Physiological  :- They may have an intense force for perfectionism, which makes them suppose that they're never  thin  enough and makes it less difficult for them  to keep themselves starving

▪ Environmental  :- Peer pressure can motive the choice to be thin.

With the help of a few counselling and therapies, recovery is possible however the question comes, how can we get to recognise if someone is laid low with one of these sickness or what are the symptoms?

It might also be hard occasionally to perceive someone with this disorder as  generally people attempt to hide their thinness and eating habits.

However, there are two types of symptoms.

Physical symptoms

▪ The person may have a surprising and excessive weight loss.

▪ The skin will turn pale and yellow.

▪ The person may not be energetic and could sense dizziness or might faint.

▪ The person might lose the ability to tolerate cold.

▪ Teeth might erode because of vomiting.

Behavioural symptoms

▪ The person would frequently skip food and might refuse to eat most of the time or would hardly take a morsel.

▪ Will make excuses for not eating or might deny hunger.

▪ You can find the person spitting the meals after eating or might directly swallow the food without chewing.

▪ Would whine about his/her looks and weight.

▪ Will cover up themselves in layers of apparel and may not want to be in public much.

If you discover a person laid low with excessive weight-reduction plan habits, vigorous physical exercise, being consciously aware of his/her body then try speaking to that person and take them to a few counselors for assistance.

Many people with anorexia do not want recovery, at least initially. They find starving themselves better than gaining weight.

But with care, help and guidance these people can triumph over it. Individuals, family members and friends are an integral part of the treatment along with the therapy and other medication and nutrition.
