"I can't believe you think I'm boring," Andrew said with a groan as he looked over at his girlfriend Y/N, and she let out an exasperated sigh, rolling her eyes. "Andrew, I didn't say you were boring. I never said that. You're being so sensitive," she said with a flip of her hair and Andrew shook his head, gritting his teeth.
"I don't think it's that sensitive to hear your girlfriend basically tell you that you're a snooze in bed Y/N," he whispered to her and Y/N furrowed her brows. "You really want to talk about this right now?" she asked. "You know that's not what I said, and I can't believe you actually want to fight about this on an air plane," she added. "I don't want to but I can't just let it go," Andrew argued back, and Y/N put her head in her hand.
The two were on a long plane ride, headed to Cabo San Lucas with Andrew's friends Heath and Matt King and their girlfriends, as well as Garrett, Bruce Weigner and Jack Dytrych. The friends had been planning the trip to Cabo for months and everyone was ready to let loose and have fun. Y/N had no intention of starting a fight with her redheaded boyfriend, but the morning before they left for the airport, they'd somehow got into a tiff, and at some point Y/N had mentioned to Andrew her fear that the two were letting their relationship get stale.
They'd been together for three years, and admittedly, Andrew had started to take the relationship for granted. They were sort of in a rut when it came to their sex life, but Andrew was never one to do anything too out of the box. Y/N had brought up her concerns about the two letting their relationship slide a little bit, and she was pretty sure she'd made it clear she meant both of them, but Andrew had heard it as him, and he was immediately defensive. Her critique hit him at his deepest insecurities, as he was always a little bit shocked that he'd somehow landed a beautiful, smart and sexy girl like Y/N to be his girlfriend. The fashion vlogger adored Andrew, but he felt she was out of his league, and her concerns about their relationship, however innocent she thought they were, hit him right in the gut.
Y/N felt bad, as she was simply trying to encourage him to keep things spicy, and she grabbed his hand under the blanket they'd laid over the two of them on the plane ride, leaning into him and whispering to him softly. "Andrew, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to criticize or put anything on you. It's just... you know, I don't want us to take each other for granted and go through the motions. I'm sorry I said anything. I definitely didn't want to hurt your feelings or make you mad. Let's just forget the whole thing," she pleaded, her sweet eyes wide and serious, and the redhead nodded, grumbling a little as she leaned in and softly kissed his cheek.
"OK, baby, let's just forget it," he told her. But he couldn't forget it. He bit his lip, thinking carefully about what she'd said. Were they getting too stale and boring? Was their sex life too mundane? He honestly wasn't sure, but he did have to admit to himself that sex had turned into a pretty ritualistic event between the two of them. Lay in bed, make out for a while, have sex, fall asleep, repeat. He squinted his eyes a little, thinking it over. Was Y/N right? She was gorgeous, sexy and definitely still super-into the idea of having sex with her man. Why was Andrew so nonchalant about the whole thing? He glanced over to Y/N and she had laid her head on his shoulder, quietly looking at her phone as Andrew sighed.
The friends got off the plane and headed through the airport and into waiting cars to take them to the Ritz Carlton in Cabo San Lucas. Everyone was gasping at the beautiful views and the expansive hotel as they walked through the massive lobby. They headed to the floor where their rooms were and Garrett immediately grabbed Y/N, begging her to go to the downstairs pool bar to grab some fun tropical drinks, and she headed off with Garrett, Mariah and Patricia while all the other guys hung out in Heath's room on the balcony overlooking the ocean.
Thirty minutes later Garrett and the girls returned with umbrella drinks in hand and they were all giggling away as they walked into the room. "Well, we've been here for half an hour and it's already getting crazy!" Mariah yelled as they walked in, and the boys looked at them curiously.
