A/N: So I'm a dance teacher, and I'm of course not able to teach my ballerinas right now. I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while, based on a real experience I had with an ex. Enjoy. :)

Andrew walked nervously through the doors of the Brentwood Center for Performing Arts one spring day, pulling at the brim of his Kansas City baseball hat while shuffling his feet a little bit. He looked around the waiting room, which led off to four different dance rooms, each with observation windows for parents to view their budding ballerinas. He glanced from room to room, trying to figure out where to go when an older lady with bright silver hair flashed him a warm smile from the front desk.

"Can I help you, young man? You look lost!" the lady offered, her voice lilting through the room. Andrew smiled politely, eyes darting around. "Um... Maybe. I'm looking for my girlfriend, she's a teacher. I'm just dropping something off to her." He scratched the back of his neck nervously. Though he'd been to the dance studio once before, there was something about the loud, bustling studio filled to the brim with kids and dance moms that made him feel super out-of-place. The white-haired lady let out a lilting laugh, flashing a bright smile. "Hmm, we've got two married teachers and one man, so I'm going to assume you're talking about Y/N. You must be Andrew!" She reached an arm through the window to the desk, extending her hand to shake his warmly.

"Yeah, hi, nice to meet you," Andrew said in his signature soft-spoken voice, smiling at the woman. "I'm Lydia, I'm the owner here. My goodness, is Y/N an angel. That girl is the most amazing teacher! What a blessing." She smiled at him and he couldn't help but grin, feeling a warm feeling in his stomach at the mention of his girl. Andrew had been dating Y/N for two months. They met at a Hollywood party, the type of event that neither really frequented. Andrew went with his friends Cole and Caleb, as well as Morgan. Y/N was dragged their by her friend Mariah Amato, a de facto Vlog Squad girlfriend who was dating Heath Hussar. Mariah was a dancer in Los Angeles and had met Y/N in class a few years prior at the Millenium Dance Center in L.A. where they both trained. Mariah continued to dance commercially while Y/N stopped auditioning, preferring to focus her time on teaching. The night Heath and Mariah introduced Y/N to Andrew, she had begged Mariah to skip the party and hang out at home. The two bonded at the party over their penchant for being homebodies and their general unluckiness in relationships.

While both were pretty guarded, Y/N had to admit to herself that there was truly something special about the red-headed boy with the adorable laugh. After about a month of dating, Andrew asked Y/N to be exclusive, and she was thrilled. She couldn't help but think that he might be the one, but there was something holding her back, a little seed of doubt about whether she was ready to fully commit, having dated so many guys before who hadn't ever loved her as much as she'd loved them. She was so tired of being hurt and had sworn off relationships for the six months prior to the party, having convinced herself that she wasn't ready and that time alone would help give her perspective. But then Andrew came along, and try as she may, she couldn't stay away from him. He was precious.

For his part, Andrew was taken with the strawberry blonde girl with the dancer's body and heart of gold. She was so considerate, constantly taking care of him, and he was utterly charmed by her sweet personality. He adored everything about her, and while it had been forever since he'd dated anyone seriously, he had this feeling deep down that she was the one for him. She was so kind, so smart, and it didn't hurt that she was gorgeous. She made his heart race and his mouth go dry, and he would have done anything to prove to her that he wasn't like the other guys she'd dated in the past.

That day they'd spent the morning together, hiking in the Hollywood Hills as they did most mornings before heading to lunch at Earthly, their favorite cafe in Y/N's Westwood neighborhood. She always ate healthy, given her years of dance training, and she had made it her mission to get her fast-food loving, coffee-addicted boyfriend eating a little bit better. After lunch and a walk around the neighborhood together, checking out shops and generally hanging out, Andrew had to head to Calabasas to work at Shane's while Y/N headed for the studio, prepared to teach her 6 consecutive classes. As soon as she arrived at the studio, however, she groaned as she noticed she'd left her adapter for the sound system at home. Annoyed at herself, she called Andrew and he immediately volunteered to bring her an extra that he had in his car.
