"His flight gets in at 7, and then we're definitely gonna go out tonight I think," Andrew told Morgan as they sat by the pool at Morgan's Hollywood Hills apartment complex. "I'm guessing he'll want to grab dinner and go somewhere fun and L.A.," the red-head added with a sparkle in his brown eyes, and Morgan grinned. "I'm kind of excited to see 'college Andrew' in action," the blonde said with a gleam in her crystal blue eyes.
Andrew had been looking forward to a visit from his high school and college best friend Seth for the past few weeks, ever since his pal had told him he'd be coming to Los Angeles for a job interview at a tech company. Andrew and Seth had been friends since they were 13 years old, when they played on the same soccer team in their Illinois town. The guys continued to stay close throughout college, and while they parted ways after graduation, Andrew moving to Los Angeles to try to work in production, Seth going to Michigan State University to get his masters degree, the two continued to talk and text daily. Seth was so excited about the job interview at a California tech company, and he was even more excited to make the interview into a boys' weekend with his best friend.
"So this Seth... is he cute?" Morgan asked, wiggling her eye brows suggestively, and Andrew cackled. "I don't know, Morgan. I mean, I guess he's fine to look at. He usually has a girlfriend, if that's what you mean," he said with a shrug, and Morgan rolled her eyes. "Is he as cute as you?" she asked, and Andrew turned red. "What kind of question is that? I don't know," he answered, obviously uncomfortable, and Morgan giggled. Andrew was always so awkward when anyone mentioned his attractiveness, even Morgan, who was like a little sister to him. Morgan thought it was crazy, but she also found it kind of endearing how shy and humble Andrew could be, given that every girl Morgan knew thought he was hot.
"Well, I'm done with L.A. guys. Maybe hanging out with a nice Midwestern boy would be a nice change for me," the pretty blonde said, and Andrew shrugged again. "I mean, do you, Morgan. Midwestern people are generally nicer," he said with a small smile. "Anyway, I was sort of hoping you'd hang around to entertain Seth's little sister. She really wants to check out L.A. because she wants to dance out here, I think," he said softly.
Seth's younger sister Y/N was 22, and she'd just graduated from college at University of Wisconsin. She'd trained in dance for years and had been on the UW varsity dance team, but her dream was to dance professionally in L.A. She had begged Seth to bring her along to visit Andrew, hoping to check out the Millenium Dance Center and take some classes in L.A. to feel out the scene. Seth had agreed, asking Andrew reluctantly if his kid sister could join, and Andrew was happy to host the younger girl as well. Y/N was five years younger than the boys, and while Andrew certainly knew her, they'd never spent much time together, as Y/N was so much younger and always dancing. He was figuring maybe Morgan could entertain the younger girl while Andrew and Seth hung out and caught up, and Morgan seemed happy to oblige her friend.
Later that night, Morgan and Andrew headed to the airport to pick up Seth and Y/N, Seth texting Andrew when their plane landed, and when Morgan pulled up in her white Range Rover, Andrew craned his eyes and located Seth in the crowd immediately, his mop of dark brown hair flying everywhere. Andrew hopped out, rushing over to wave down his friend, and he let out a trademark cackle as Seth pulled his best friend into a bear hug. Andrew peered around behind Seth and locked eyes with a petite, thin drop-dead gorgeous girl with long blonde hair, soft brown eyes, and a perfect pearly-white smile. His breath hitched a little as the girl stood behind Seth shyly, clad in leggings and a cropped sweatshirt.
"Hey buddy!" Seth exclaimed, excitedly punching Andrew on the shoulder. "You remember my little sister, Y/N huh?" he added, gesturing to the gorgeous blonde, and Andrew nodded slowly, eyes wide, before shaking himself out of the trance he'd been in to greet the girl. "Of course! Hey Y/N!" he exclaimed, a bit too enthusiastically. "How long has it been since I've seen you, like at least a few years, huh?" Andrew asked, and she smiled a little. "Yeah, I think so. I was in France the last time you came home to Illinois, I guess," she said with a small shrug, and Andrew pulled her into a friendly hug, towering over the girl's tiny frame. He couldn't help but notice how amazing she smelled, and he immediately worried that he'd held her for too long before pulling away nervously, turning to Morgan.
