"Come on Andrew, I really need you to come out with me tonight. What if it goes awful with Henry? I need an escape!" Garrett begged, giving his best friend puppy dog eyes as he plead with him to go to a bar so Garrett could meet up with a new guy he'd been talking to. Andrew rolled his eyes a little, shaking his head.

"I can't go out tonight, Gare, I told you. I've gotta clean up my apartment before my parents visit tomorrow." Andrew gave Garrett a nonchalant shrug and the taller guy frowned.

"Seriously? Your apartment is always spotless. I thought that was the one positive of your OCD? You never have to freak out and clean when you know you're going to have visitors." Andrew sighed a little. "I don't know. I want my parents to think I have my life together. Ever since all the bullshit with Shane went down, I've felt like they don't think I can manage myself."

Garrett laughed a little at the notion. Andrew's parents Sarah and Jed Siwicki were the kindest and most supportive people on Earth, and while Garrett knew how important his parents' approval was to the redhead, it was laughable to think of his parents as being anything but proud of their only son.

"You're nuts brother. I'm sure your parents are stoked to see you and see how great you're doing. And hey, they'll get to meet Y/N and that will show them you've got it together. You're in an awesome, healthy relationship. That's gotta count for something, right?" Garrett asked pointedly and Andrew sucked in a breath, fidgeting a bit before glancing at his best friend sheepishly.

"Oh, um... well, I don't know... I haven't... well, I haven't actually told them about Y/N. I wasn't gonna introduce them to her this time," he stammered out, and Garrett raised his eyebrows.

Y/N was Andrew's girlfriend. They'd met at a party at Andrew's friend Bruce Weigner's house. Y/N was a stylist who'd worked on a few of Bruce's music videos and she and Andrew had hit it off immediately at the party. They'd started dating right in the middle of Andrew's fallout with Shane and they'd been together for 7 months. Y/N was sweet, kind and drop dead gorgeous, everything Andrew looked for in a girl, and as far as his friends could tell, he seemed happier with her than he'd been in years. Garrett was shocked to hear that Andrew didn't want her to meet his parents considering how easily she'd acclimated into Andrew's life.

"Wait, what?! You haven't told your parents about Y/N? Why? I thought you were head over heels for her. Have you been having doubts? Are you breaking up with her?" Garrett asked, spitting out questions faster than Andrew could keep up.

"No! I'm not having doubts about Y/N! We're not breaking up, she's awesome!" Andrew protested, and Garrett scrunched up his nose. "Well does she not want to meet them?" He asked, and Andrew looked at his best friend with a stricken expression on his handsome face.

"I... Um, well... I haven't told her about it," Andrew mumbled, looking down nervously at his feet, and Garrett gave him a very skeptical look.

"Whoa... I wonder how that's gonna go," Garrett said lowly, and Andrew started to feel nervous.

The truth was that Andrew hadn't brought his girlfriend up to his parents because every relationship he'd been in had been a train wreck. As sweet, kind and lovely as the redheaded podcaster was, he was ridiculously unlucky in love and unsure of himself when it came to relationships. After the last few girls he'd dated had turned out to be awful, he decided to keep his parents at arms' length when it came to his love life. Andrew adored his parents and wanted their approval more than anything, and he just didn't feel comfortable confiding in them about girls, especially as his professional life was already a mess enough.

He hadn't mentioned Jed and Sarah's visit to Y/N, as he had no plans to have them meet while they were in town. He adored his girlfriend, he really did. But it had only been seven months. They hadn't even said 'I love you.'  Was it really worth the discomfort and awkwardness of introducing her to his parents when they'd only be in town for a few days? He couldn't imagine springing her on them when they didn't even know he was dating anyone. No, it was best for everyone involved if they never met.

"I don't think this is gonna work Andrew. I mean, you've met Y/N's parents a ton of times. Hell, you went golfing with her dad last week. How are you going to explain to her that your parents have never heard of her? Won't that hurt her feelings?" Garrett asked pointedly, and Andrew swallowed hard, as his best friend always cut immediately to the chase.

"Well, that's totally different! Y/N's from Laguna Beach, her parents live like an hour away Gare. They come to L.A. all the time. Plus... it's just different for her. She's not nearly as anxious as I am. I don't want to hurt her at all but... I'm just not ready to have her meet my mom and dad. Like, I just don't feel like we're there yet... you know?" he explained, and Garrett shrugged, obviously skeptical.

That night, Andrew went to his apartment to clean up and get ready for his parents to arrive the next morning. Y/N was coming over to hang out and eat dinner, and Andrew figured he'd break the news about his parents visiting and hope Y/N wasn't upset with him about his plan to keep them apart. She knocked and when Andrew came to the door, she greeted him with the beautiful smile that made his heart want to jump out of his chest.

"Hi Andrew! How are you?! I had the craziest day and all I could think about was seeing you!" she said sweetly, throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly, leaning in to kiss him softly on his cheek as he blushed. There was something about Y/N that always made Andrew feel warm and fuzzy inside. She made him feel like she had been waiting all day just to spend time with him, like there was nothing in the world she'd rather do, and it was the first time in his life that Andrew had been with a girl who made him feel that way.

He immediately grinned at the sight of his beautiful girl, mouth turned up as he took in the casual gym shorts and hoodie she had on. She felt so comfortable around him, and she didn't hesitate to hang out with no makeup on, looking relaxed. She'd told him before that he was the first boyfriend she'd felt so at ease around, and given her fashion background, she barely ever went casual. It made him feel special, and he couldn't help but think that it was this version of her that he thought was most beautiful.

"I'm glad to see you too sweetheart," Andrew cooed, kissing her lips gently with both hands cupping her face. "I've been so busy today too. I need some cuddle time with my best girl," he said with a cute grin, and Y/N giggled. "Oh my gosh, baby, you're so cute!" she gushed, and Andrew grinned. "No, you are," he countered, laughing as she covered his handsome face with kisses.
