"Honestly, Morgan, I really don't have to come with you guys this weekend," Y/N said quietly as she sat on the bed in Morgan's room, twirling her blonde hair around her finger as she watched her roommate pack a duffel bag with hoodies and leggings for the weekend. The two girls met a year ago at an industry party, Morgan tagging along with Shane and Ryland, Y/N going with her then-boyfriend Tyler, an actor on a network dramedy. They clicked immediately, chatting in the bathroom about how weird they found these types of events. Y/N was a girls' girl, the type of girl who was always surrounded by a gaggle of female friends, and Morgan was shocked when the pretty dancer started talking to her and got her number to hang out later. Morgan hadn't had much luck making friends with the L.A. girls, especially those in the industry, and Y/N was the first genuine girl she'd made friends with since she'd moved to Los Angeles. After hanging out for about two months and becoming good friends, Y/N broke up with Tyler after she found him in bed with an Instagram model in their shared apartment. She went to Morgan's apartment crying, and Morgan immediately invited the girl to stay at her house, eager to repay her for the kindness she'd shown her when she moved. Y/N stayed for the week, and when she went to look for a new apartment, Morgan insisted she make their living situation permanent. They'd been roommates and best friends ever since.
Y/N was really fun, always game for an adventure, and she'd become pretty close with Shane and the Squad since she'd become Morgan's roommate, but if there was one thing she wasn't game for, it was scary stuff. Unlike Morgan, Y/N hated anything spooky, and she couldn't even watch a horror movie on Netflix, let alone go along on one of Shane's crazy haunted adventures. However, the Shane fans loved the pretty dancer, who had made a few appearances on his channel, as well as Morgan and Ryland's, and Shane was insisting that the beautiful blonde girl come along on his most recent planned excursion, to a haunted hotel in Santa Barbara. Morgan was also desperate for Y/N to go along, not wanting to be the only girl on yet another Squad adventure.
As she threw more stuff in her overnight bag, Morgan tucked some hair behind her ear, scrunching her brows together in thought before grinning at Y/N. "I know how much you hate this stuff, Y/N, but everyone will be so bummed if you don't come. Especially Andrew..." her voice trailed off as she rooted through the attached bathroom, looking for her moisturizer as Y/N's eyes went wide. Morgan knew Andrew was Y/N's weak spot, as she'd had a crush on the red-headed cameraman since she'd moved into Morgan's. She was such a mess after the breakup with Tyler, and Andrew had come to her rescue, going to their apartment to gather her stuff because she was too upset to go herself. He'd even had some of his friends outside of the squad go by with pick up trucks to grab her furniture and bigger items, taking care of all of it while Y/N cried on Morgan's couch. He was so sweet to her, completely opposite of Tyler and every other guy she'd ever dated, and she was completely smitten with him. Morgan was the only one in the squad who knew about her feelings for Andrew, and Y/N was 100% sure he thought of her as nothing but a little sister, him being four years older and not particularly flirty with her. She knew the crush was completely one-sided, and she'd told Morgan numerous times that she'd get over it eventually whenever Morgan had tried to push her to flirt more with him or to be more obvious.
"Mor-gannnn!" Y/N shrieked a little, embarrassed even thinking about it. "You know as well as I do that Andrew doesn't care if I go or not!" Her cheeks tinted pink, as she shook her head and rolled her eyes. Y/N was generally a confident girl, stunningly beautiful with a perfect dancer's body and a bubbly, fun personality. She'd never in her life been afraid to flirt or go after a guy, and she'd always been pretty popular with guys in general, but there was something about Andrew that left her giggly and nervous. It might have been how mature he was, seemingly wise beyond his years. It could have been how serious and introverted he was, way more intelligent than any of the other guys she'd been with. Or, of course, it could have just been how insanely attractive she thought he was, his soft brown eyes looking through her, his sweet grin making her melt inside. The fact that he didn't seem to even notice her, and certainly didn't seem to be attracted to her, made her feel even more uneasy around him, like a giggly school girl with a silly crush.
