Andrew and Y/N had been together for about 6 months. The first five, they hadn't been able to keep their hands off each other. The relationship had been amazing, the best either had been in, and Andrew was definitely in love with the gorgeous young first year attorney at a Los Angeles entertainment law firm. They met through Andrew's friend EJ and his wife Sarah. Y/N was in the same Orange Theory class with Sarah, and she was so excited to set up the beautiful golden-haired lawyer with her and EJ's shy, funny cameraman friend. Andrew had never been in love before, not like this, and Y/N certainly hadn't ever met anyone as kind, sweet and adorable as the red-headed videographer with the infectious laugh.

They both worked long hours. And at first, that was fine with them. Y/N was relieved to find a boyfriend who wasn't put off by her work schedule and the seemingly unending demands placed on her to put in billable hours at the busy law firm in Studio City where she worked. Andrew was one of the few people Y/N had met who worked longer hours than she did. He never cared that she was often busy working through dinner because most nights, he was busy working too. However, for the first five months of their relationship, Andrew made time to hang out with his girl almost every night, and they never went more than a full day without seeing each other. Everything was perfect, and the relationship had progressed so much that "I Love You's" flowed easy and often from both their mouths and Y/N had even given Andrew a key to her apartment.

But then Andrew and Shane started to go on their marathon editing sprees. They always did that leading up to the release of a big docuseries, and this time was no different. But Andrew had never had a girlfriend before when working on one of the series, and he was having trouble managing his time between he and Shane's general work style and his girlfriend's needs and feelings. At first, it was small. Every few days he would text Y/N around 9 or 10 at night to say he didn't think he'd make it home to hang out with her and that he'd likely just sleep at Shane's. Y/N never got upset, always understanding Andrew's work, and at first, she was even relieved that Andrew's dedication to Shane and their work meant that she didn't have to apologize for being dedicated to hers. But then, it started getting more frequent. Andrew stopped making time for dinners with Y/N, and he started sleeping at Shane's more and more, falling into the same routine he always had when they were working on something major. Y/N was understanding, though she definitely missed him, and she'd be lying if she said her feelings weren't hurt when he went two nights in a row without coming home to sleep with her.

Ryland took notice too, gently reminding Andrew that his relationship was important. One night, when Ryland wondered downstairs at 11 pm to get a drink of water and saw the boys sat at the kitchen table, laptops out and coffee on, he gently broached the subject with the red-head who had become family over the years.

"Andrew, you're not going home tonight?" Ryland asked carefully, glancing between Shane and Andrew as they both looked up at him tiredly. "Don't you think Y/N will be disappointed? You stayed here last night too?" Andrew looked at him with wide eyes while Shane rolled his. "What are you getting at babe?" Shane asked, exasperated. "She understands," Andrew said, sounding unsure of himself. "She's the coolest, she never complains or anything." His voice trailed off as Ryland glared at Shane before smiling at Andrew tightly. "Yeah, she is definitely cool about all this. But you don't want to take it for granted bud," Ryland said. "I'm just staying, when Shane and I had first gotten together, I wouldn't have been so cool with it too many nights in a row..." His voice trailed off as he walked upstairs to head to bed. Andrew watched him walk up the stairs before looking from Shane to his phone. But Shane had shifted his attention back to his laptop.

Andrew grabbed his phone and shot Y/N a text.

"I'm sorry for not coming home baby. I miss you, but we're super busy tonight. I'll make it up to you."
