"ye Naina Sameer ne kahan fasa diya mujhe...Preeti ke saath aa toh gaya hun par...baat karun?ki na karun?...kaise karun?...kab se khade hain yahan pe...aur ek shabd bhi nahi bola humne...'' Pandit muttered under his breath.

He sighed again, ''samay ke saath kuchh rishte itne ulajh kyun jaate hain?..." Pandit spoke to himself with hints of desolation in him. But it was truth anyhow. Wasn't it? Everything and everyone had a sudden change and somehow, they were not so wanted changes inside them. It is obvious that the 'time' takes mortals under control of it, so as to face a transpose that is unexpected to people around them.

He looked at her tranquil feature. She too had a perplexed expression on her face, maybe for initiating the conversation...just like him. Was she too fighting with herself to talk to him? He thought. He sighed. Had it become that difficult for them?

He again went on with his thoughts, "kya samay ne itna lamba karwat le liya hai ki hum pehle ki tarah normally baat bhi nahi kar sakte?... kisiko main kya kahunga...jab ki main khud bhi wo nahi hun jo hua karta tha...main bhi kya bhari bharkam dialogue maarne laga hun..." he chuckled inwardly, smiling outside.

When they were descending down the taxi minutes later, they stood exactly in front of Subham's office. Pandit looked around and observed that it looked so sound in this morning hour. He paid the driver before she could. When the taxi was out of their sight, Preeti spoke to him trying not to be rude, "paise main de hi rahi thi na...tumhe dene ki kya zarurat thi..."

Pandit sighed, somehow controlling his emotions, "tumne diya, maine diya, ek hi baat hai Preeti...waise bhi hum dost hain...isme formality wali koi baat nahi hai...behes mat karo...jaanta tu kitna vaad vivaad karti ho tum..."

Preeti was about to speak back but Pandit shushed her again, "dekho...yahan beech raaste mein chaalu mat ho jaana ab...pooja hai...isiliye jaldi saaman le aate hain...jaana bhi hai..." Preeti hummed with a cold expression, showing him the way. Pandit also went straight, trying that situation dont turn awkward. This pace of conversation was good for them.

When they were walking in the gully moving towards the shop, Pandit spoke hesitatingly, "wo...tumse ek baat kehni thi..." "kya?" she questioned not looking at him.

He started, not knowing what would be her reaction, "tum thik toh ho na...matlab..."

But she cut him in between, "meri tabiyat bilkul thik hai...aisa kyun puchh rahe ho?" she dryly replied him.

"nahi...main tumhare tabiyat ki baat nahi kar raha hun...tumhare andar ke badlaav ki baat kar raha hun..." Pandit was still talking to her calmly.

She jerked her look at him but he stood with his look in his front. She blinked twice. Had she changed? She held a long sigh. Yes, maybe she had. But whatever it was...this was her.

She held her dupatta up her shoulders and tried to reply him, "waqt har kisiko badal deta hai Pandit...koi isme kuchh bhi nahi kar sakta..."

Pandit smiled at her answer. He looked at her stopping at the place, making her halt too, "haan...baat toh tumhari sahi hai...badlaav bohot zaruri hota hai...achha bhi hota hai...par sirf tab tak, jab tak usse tumhare liye dusron ki dhaarna na badle..."

She comprehended over his words. Was the change in her affecting someone? But, had she really replaced the inside 'her'? She again looked at him and spoke in a low tone, "main samjhi nahi..."

He sighed gesturing her to walk along, "main sirf itna kehna chahta hun Preeti ki...tumhe nahi lagta ki tum badal gayi ho...nahi...mera galat matlab mat nikalna...bas main keh raha hun ki jaisi tum thi, matlab chulbuli si, mast hoke khana peena, mast maula rehna, apni behen ki taang khichna, zinda dil rehna, jhalliyon jaisi harkatein karna..." he looked at her changing expressions, "tumhe nahi lagta hai ki tum badal gayi ho...waisi nahi ho...aur main ye saari baatein isliye keh raha hun kyunki kal ko Samar ke liye toh tum aisi hi rahogi...lekin humare liye to badal hi gayi ho na..."
