Listening to the thud sound of the falling receiver, everyone settled in the sitting area hurried their pace to Pandit and Preeti.

Naina repeatedly called Preeti patting her cheeks, "Preeti...preeti uth. Preeti. Ise kya ho gaya hai Sameer, yeh uth kyun nahi rahi hai? Preeti uth jaa na, Preeti..."

"Naina...Naina sambhalo apne aap ko. Preeti thik hojaaegi, sayad behosh hogayi hai" Sameer said holding Naina.

He further continued, "Pandit! Preeti ko utha aur sofa pe leta de. Main doctor ko phone lagata hun. Naina chinta mat karo, Preeti ko kuch bhi nahi hoga...hum sab hai na.." Sameer assured Naina and ran to dial the doctor's number.

Munna said in a worried voice, setting the cushions on the sofa aside, "Pandit yahan rakh Preeti ko, jaldi kar" Pandit obliged and kept Preeti on the sofa slowly. He still was quiet, not able to configure what had happened a minute ago.

Meanwhile, Kaanji rushed with a glass of water and handed it to Pandit saying, "Bhaihya ji, ye lijiye. Preeti didi ke muh pe chidak dijiye, sayad hosh me aajaaye" Pandit took the glass and sprinkled some water on Preeti's face. But nothing happened.

Swati said to a sniffing Naina slowly, also holding Aarav in her hand, "Chinta mat kar Naina, Preeti ko kuch bhi nahi hoga. Hum hain na...aur doctor bhi aate hi honge" Naina nodded, with tears still in her eyes.

Pandit was rubbing her hands vehemently not paying attention to what was happening in the surroundings.

Munna walked up to Sameer who had just put the receiver down and asked hurriedly, "Kya hua Sameer? Doctor se baat hogayi na? Wo aa to rahe hain na? Ya Preeti ko hospital hi lekar chalein?"

Sameer put his hand on Munna's shoulder and assured him, "Nahi Munna uski zarurat nahi hai. Meri baat hui doctor se, wo aa rahe hain. Bas thodi der mein pohochte hi honge. Par ek baat samajh me nahi aa rahi hai ki Preeti achanak behosh kaise ho gayi? Abhi abhi to thik thi"

Munna also thought for a while and said, "Haan yaar ye to sachme sochne wali hai. Ye achanak se behosh kaise ho gayi? Subah se to achhi bhali thi...''

Something hit Munna's mind after a second, ''Preeti behosh hone se pehle kisi se phone pe baat kar rahi thi, ho na ho usi insaan ne ise aisi kuch baat batayi hogi jisse wo sunkar behosh hogayi. sayad koi jhatka laga ho ise?"

Sameer also gave a thought, nodding to his statement, "Sahi keh raha hai tu, aisa ho sakta hai. Par, jo dar mere man mein hai...wo na ho. Subham ji thik ho bas."

Munna suggested, " Abhi ye andaaze lagaana chhod. Main ek kaam karta hun, main usi number pe dubaara se baat karta hun toh sayad kuchh pata chal jaaye. Aur tu abhi Naina ke paas ja. Use teri zarurat hai is waqt. Thode time mein doctor bhi aa jaayenge" Sameer nodded and went to Naina. Munna turned and dialled the number again.

Naina saw him and said grabbing his hands sobbing hard, "Sameer...Sameer dekho na, ise kya hogaya hai. Uth hi nahi rahi hai, ise bolo na uth jaaye."

"Naina shaant hojaao. Kuchh bhi nahi hoga hamari Preeti ko. Dekho tum rona band karo, Preeti ko pata chalega to use bhi bohot bura lagega na" Sameer said wiping her tears. Naina nodded sadly and hugged him.

After a couple of minutes, the doctor arrived and Munna had also finished his talk on the phone. Sameer shook Munna by his arm, seeing his shocked and pale face. Munna said through gestures that, he will explain after the doctor is gone.

For the time being, the doctor examined Preeti. Pandit sat beside her, not ready to move here and there. After all, she was his best friend.

Some 15-20 minutes later, the doctor came up to Sameer, Naina and Swati and said, "Dekhiye ghabrane ki koi baat nahi hai. Ye kisi shock ke wajah se behosh hui hain, isiliye ye kisi chiz ka respond nahi kar rahi thi itne der se. Maine injection de diya hai, aur kuchh hi der mein inhe hosh aajaayega. Aur koi bhi additive medicine ki zarurat nahi hai filhalke liye. Sirf ek nind ki goli chhod kar jaa raha hun yahan, zarurat pade to unhe khila dena. Inhe thodi der mein apne aap hi hosh aajaega"
