Sameer moved his eyes, gesturing Munna to initiate the talk with Pandit. Munna once again, and for the nth time by now, shook his head in No. He pleaded with Sameer to do it instead. Sameer rolled his eyes and gave a side look to Pandit narrowing his face. Pandit was in the same position since the time Naina left for Preeti's house. His eyes were still damp; mind was clouded with several questions but a determined answer was ready too. From a very time...as least it was long time for him, he had kept the thing to himself that he will stay as far as he could, from Preeti.

Sameer nudged Munna and he shook him vehemently once again. He gritted his teeth and gave him an impossible look. He himself sat beside Pandit, patting his thigh. He lowered his face trying to meet his eyes. But Pandit did not look up. Sameer let out his irritation, "yaar Pandit bas kar na ab. Baarish bhi teri raah dekh dekh ke chali gayi. Kab se hum log baithe hain yahan pe. Tu koi jawab hi nahi de raha hai. Kuchh toh bol yaar."

"Haan Pandit, dekh baat kya hai bata toh sahi. Hum hain na tere paas, hum madat karenge na teri." Munni sat on the other side of Pandit, settling himself down. Sameer gave an annoyed to him, "Chalo kamekam Pandit ka nahi par iska toh maun vrat tuta."

But Pandit sat tongue-tied. He had lost whatever he had wanted to gain. For him, nothing was left now. His friends' words were just entering and exiting his ears adjacently. His total focus was centered on Preeti and her words only.

Sameer hit his head. Nothing was working. He silently hoped that at least Preeti was fine and why won't she be? Naina had gone to her. However, he was now really worried for Pandit. He was still not reacting to their words. Before Sameer could speak again, Munna stood and stood at Sameer's side. He leaned to his ear, "yaar ye toh kuchh bol hi nahi raha hai."

Sameer gave a corner eye look to look to him, "Hein? Maine toh dekha hi nahi." "toh ab dekh le na" Munna gave an innocent answer to him.

Sameer hit his forehead again, "Arey yaar jaa jaake wahan pe baith jaa, jaa na." He pushed him lightly. Munna scratched his head and came back to his place.

Sameer sighed and started again turning himself towards Pandit, "Pandit , dekh meri baat dhyaan se sunna. Jo kuchh bhi hua, usmein tu apne aap ko kyun doshi maan raha hai? Tere dil ki baat aur jo kuchh bhi Preeti ne kaha, dekh baat donon alag hai."

"Par donon baat toh judi hui toh hai na?" Munna cut him in between, earning a deadly glare from Sameer in return. He immediately shut his mouth shaking his head in apology.

"Meri baat sun Pandit" He calmed his voice towards Pandit. "Preeti ne apne dil ki baat toh keh di. Usne apne dil mein 8 saalon se jo kuchh bhi rakha tha wo nikaal ke rakh diya tere saamne. Wo chillayi, tujhse sahi se baat nahi kiya par jo bhi tha...wo bas uske dil mein dafan wo saare zasbaat the, jo usne itne dinon tak chhupa kar rakha aur achanak aaj bol diya. Maanta hun ki uski kahi baaton se tujhe bohot thes bhi pohcha hoga, par tu uske dil ka haal bhi toh samajh. Wo kya bolti aise mein?"

Munna added, "Sameer sahi keh raha hai Pong..." He cleared his throat and closed his eyes for a second to correct himself, "Sameer sahi keh raha hai Pandit. Preeti ke man mein jo tha wo toh usne bol diya. Par tujhe usse baat karne ki koshish toh karni chahiye thi na kamsekam. Wo gussa karti, sayad tera sar bhi phod deti...waise bhi humari Preeti badi hinsak hai..."

Sameer caught his arm before he could mess up more. He gritted his teeth, "abey tu use samjha raha hai ya dara raha hai? Ispe daya drishti mat daal bhai. Rehne de. Main...main baat karta hun isse. Tu shaant hojaa." Munna gave a 'what did I do' look to him.

"Pandit, wasie Munna ki ye baat toh sach hai. Tujhe ek baar Preeti se baat karne ki koshish toh karni chahiye thi. Aur sachme ho sakta hai, wo pehle bura maanti par wo baad mein teri baat zarur sunti na."
