The door to your room open and closed with a gentle click. You barely looked up from the book you were reading as you turned a page. From the corner of your eyes, you saw Rin walk over to your bed, set the bag he was carrying down on the floor and collapse onto it with an exasperated sigh. You didn't glance up from the page you were reading as you spoke.
"You good?" you enquired, eyes darting to the other page. Why did he always have a habit of disrupting you while you were at the good part of your books? It seemed to be happening more and more as of late. Rin grunted in response before hissing slightly. The unusual noise drew your attention. You finally looked up from your book and saw your partner rolling his shoulder, grimacing at the feeling. "Is training that hard?" you asked, setting your book on the desk beside you.
"Just because you can't lift weights," Rin responded with a small smirk. You rolled your eyes and made your way over to the black-haired man.
"I'm trying to be nice," you stated, climbing onto the bed so you could kneel behind the boy. Since the night at the park, yours and Rin's relationship had changed for the better. While he was still stoic and egotistical, there was no denying that he showed his love for you more and more in his own ways.
Also, since that day, Rin and his team had won against Japan U-20. Rin had surpassed his brother, much to your delight – they even made an exception to allow family and close friends there to watch. Meaning, you got to see Rin surpass his brother in person. It was some sweet satisfaction to see Sae get knocked off his high horse. You couldn't remember a time you cheered so loudly.
Since then, though, their training had been upped. Longer hours, more drills, more weights. You were honestly surprised it wasn't taking a toll on Rin. But, seeing him now, you supposed it was taking a toll on him and that he was just good at hiding it. You could have cursed at him for hiding it from you but you understood he didn't want you to worry. So, instead of yelling at him, you placed your hands on his shoulders and started massaging them.
Rin grunted at the feeling of your hands on his muscles. It didn't take you long to find the pain. It was rare Rin ever had pain in his legs, it normally came from his shoulders after his weight lifting which came after a session.
"You didn't cool down enough, did you?" you enquired, gently prodding at the tight muscles to try and relieve the pain. Rin hummed at the feeling and released a small chuckle.
"Wanted to come back and see you," the black-haired man explained, looking over his shoulder to you. You placed a gentle kiss on his cheek and kissed his jawline.
"You should cool down first. You're of no use to anyone if your muscles cease up," you replied, moving your hands around his chest to hug him. Rin grunted at the feeling of you pressed against his back and licked his lips.
"I figured you'd take care of me. You're my wife after all," Rin gave a small 'tch', squeezing your hand gently. You hummed, lips vibrating against his neck. You raised an eyebrow at the result it caused and gave a small grin.
"We're not married yet," you muttered, teeth grazing against his neck.
"Yet being the key word," Rin stated. "I'll marry you before the first cup," he determined, bringing the hand he was holding to his lips. He placed a gentle kiss against your skin while you moved your other hand further down his chest.
