Aida Riko stormed through the halls of Seirin with an annoyed expression on her face and flyers in her hand. How hard was it supposed to be to find a manager for the basketball team? Other schools had managers and, from what she had heard, they had jumped at the chance to join the team.
But the girls and boys in Seirin were different, apparently. Lots of the girls stated they already had after school activities or that they just plain didn't want to. While most of the boys scoffed, a lot of them Aida had actually turned down for the basketball team, so it was no surprise really.
The caramel haired girl continued through the halls until she saw a couple of female students chatting by their lockers. Both were in the volleyball uniform for the girls' team of Seirin. This caused a sigh to leave the girls' mouth. They wouldn't join, they had and had an afterschool club already.
"Oh, Aida!" one of the girls' caused, stopping Aida in her tracks. Aida knew the girl to be Adashi Miko. She wasn't the friendliest girl around, but at times she was bearable. Aida walked over to Adashi and her friend, who looked about as confused as Aida.
"What's up?" the dark eyed girl questioned, stopping in front of Adashi, who smirked slightly. Aida was about to walk away when Adashi spoke again.
"I hear you're looking for a manager. If you go to the library that anti-social freak is always there. Maybe she'll be willing to join your loser club," Aida didn't know what Adashis' problem was with the basketball club. Regardless, she ignored the final remark, said nothing to the girl and made her way towards the library where you, the anti-social freak, normally stayed during breaks and lunch.
You sighed, leaning back into the beanbag you were sitting on with a large book held tightly in your arms. It was one of your favourite books, though you were normally given strange looks for reading it. The book itself consisted of the history of (F/C) and the happenings there. You enjoyed reading up on the country and its history, it interested you immensely.
Your eyes scanned over the page, ignoring the whispers that fluttered around the library regarding you. You weren't exactly anti-social, you were just shyer than most people. And you didn't exactly like much about yourself, so your doubt made you wonder why people would like you. If you thought the worst about yourself wouldn't other people?
Your theory was answered in middle school. No one spoke to you, no one wanted to befriend you and you were bullied much more than other students were. Because of that you took refuge in the library, much like you did now.
You were so lost in your own book that you didn't even realise the caramel haired girl that started walking towards you, or the whispers that stopped, or that most of the students filed out of the library quickly.
You did, however, hear the footsteps that were coming your way and, because of past events, you placed the book further into your face, trying to hide behind it. Your books and the library had become your safe place over the years, so you didn't exactly want someone to take that away from you.
You said nothing as the beanbag you were sitting on, that was large enough for two, started to dip slightly at the other side. You bit your lip and took a small glance to the left, where the other person had sat.
