You took a deep breath, staring into the darkness that you were laid in. A familiar, but un-liked, heat emitted from the side of you. You quietly and as gently as you could, rolled over onto your side.
Your eyes glanced at one of the windows in the room. The curtains remained open and you could see the stars and the moon that shone through. Like most nights you started to count the stars in the sky.
One, two, three. You counted until you were in the hundreds, but your eyes never got any heavier. If anything, it made you more awake, which was strange.
You coughed slightly, covering your mouth as you felt how dry it was. With a sigh, you threw the covers off you and went to stand as a groan came from beside you.
You froze slightly, waiting to see if he would wake up. But he didn't. He was asleep and it was rare he would wake, still, it didn't stop you from flinching.
You stood to your feet, the cold ground beneath them being somewhat of a relief to you as your mind managed to clock back into reality. You walked to the exit of the room, glancing over your shoulder to the head of blonde hair that laid in the bed.
Multiple thoughts ran through your head as you made your way down to the kitchen. You grabbed a glass and quickly filled it with water before taking a seat at the table.
Your mind wandered, allowing you to think about your friends and where they could be, what they could be doing. You wondering if they even thought you were alive anymore.
How long had it been since he had taken you from your home? A year, going on two maybe? You sighed, resting your head in your hands as you felt tears start to swell in your eyes.
You missed them. You wanted to see them, to tell them you were at least alright. You wanted to see their smiling faces and to hold a conversation with someone you didn't walk on eggshells with.
"(Y/N)?" you bit your lip when you heard your name spoke. Wiping your eyes discreetly you turned your head to the young brunette haired girl standing behind you.
"Gabi, hey. Why are you up?" you asked as the brunette haired girl walked over to the table and took a seat in front of you.
"I needed a drink. Are you okay? You look sad," the girl answered as you offered her a gentle smile.
"I'm fine, Gabi. Just thinking is all," you replied as you stood to your feet and got the young girl a glass of water before sitting back down.
"Is everything okay with you and Reiner?" the brunette questioned as you took a sip of your water.
"We're fine, Gabi," you answered with a gentle smile on your face as the girl studied you slightly before giving a small smile.
"When you first came here, even though you were from Paradis, you would be the only thing Reiner spoke about. It was so sickly sweet, but everyone was happy that he was happy," Gabi explained as you smiled slightly.
You had nothing against Reiners' family. They had been nice to you for so long it surprised you. You had nothing to offer them, what's more, you were their enemy so they had no reason to be nice to you.
But his mother allowed you to stay with them instead of inside a jail cell. They had been nothing but kind to you. They had taught you about their life and the different things they had. They had taught you to cook and slowly you had grown accustomed to the new lifestyle you were practically forced into.
