Kurapika pov

It's been a very long time since iv'e seen Gon, so I was excited. But I was a little concerned. Biskeys scent has shifted from the original path she had given me. Maybe they had to switch locations? I'm not quite sure. But I'll follow her new scent.

As I went, I noticed that the water was full of debris. I hope this had nothing to do with Gon.. I still continued on my path though, trying to ignore the weird feeling in my stomach.

But that weird feeling had now become horror. The sight in front of me could almost make me gag.

The caverns that had once been the base for everyone, was completely destroyed. A large Boulder was atop the structure, completely smashing it at this point. I felt my eyes burning from both anger, and the tears threatening to spill.

I tried to see if I could sense if anybody was alive. But no... there was no one left here. Everyone was dead. Except for the few scents I smelled that went away from the site. Biskey's was among them, and so was Gon thank goodness! But I didn't recognize the others.

So from then on I swam as fast as I could after their trail. Fear filled my soul more than ever now. What the hell even happened?! My guess is that those creatures found them...

...
I had been swimming for maybe an hour, maybe more. But I finally reached the destination where their scents were the most recent.

"Kurapika!!"

I turned to see a mermaid named Knuckle. I had met him a long time ago, but I still remembered him to some extent.

"Oh hey knuckle, what the fuck happened?!!!" I shouted with worry coming from my tone.

Knuckle gulped and he looked away from my eyes.

"Kurapika... the creatures had found us. They killed most of everyone under a gigantic Boulder.. only ten made it out. Including Shoot, Biskey, Gon, two children, four adults, and myself." Knuckle explained the situation to me. I could tell that he was close to breaking into tears..

"Oh.. that's awful. I'm very sorry for all the losses that happened. I will make sure their deaths weren't in vain!" I growled with my eyes turning red now.

Knuckle frowned and set his hand among my shoulder. I froze at his touch. His facial expression told me everything I needed to know. He wanted me to calm down... so I did. I slowly eased my muscles and my eyes went back to a hazel color.

"Sorry... I'm just very angry that those monsters continue to kill us off..." I mumbled while trying not to freak out yet again.

"It's alright, I feel your frustration too. So many died in such a short period of time. I wish I could just reverse it all. But we know that mermaid magic is incapable of that. So we need to move on and let them all rest peacefully." Knuckle said to me, and then he lead me over to some caves that were hidden below some coral. It was located in some sort of miniature trench.

"How are the others doing? How's Gon?" I asked frantically.

Knuckle then looked over to me and shook his head a little. I'm not sure if it was out of sorrow, or nervousness.

"Everyone has their fair share of injuries. But they aren't severe enough to threaten their lives. Although... Gon is in bad condition. He pulled another stupid decision.. he decided to take the army of creatures that arrived, head on. He fought just one, and got his neck bitten badly. His gills are crushed, but somehow he's still alive. Biskey and I guessed it's some sort of trick Kite taught him." Knuckle said and he rubbed his shoulder a little. He was scared... I don't blame him. We all are. Even I'm terrified out of my skin.
