Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9

Mr. Kim and Jongdae immediately stood up with Mr. Kim reaching out his hand for a handshake upon seeing Kyungsoo entering the conference room.

"It's nice to see you again, Mr. Kim." Kyungsoo started as he shook hands with the rotund, middle aged man. He graciously ushered him back to his chair whilst Jongdae prepared the papers.

"My pleasure, Mr. Do. How have you been?" asked Mr. Kim.

"Kyungsoo will do, Mr. Kim. I'm fine thank you. I believed you're also doing great yourself." he smiled.

"Yes I am, though you can see me growing more white hairs everyday." chuckled Mr. Kim. "My nephew here, told me how accommodating his boss is. You can also call me Uncle Kim if you wish." he said gesturing to Jongdae.

This entirely surprises Kyungsoo. "Jongdae, I didn't know you're related to Mr. Kim here- I mean Uncle Kim?"

"I don't want you to be biased about this, Prez, business is still business." Jongdae smiled sheepishly as he sat next to Kyungsoo, who was sitting opposite Mr. Kim in the middle of the long rectangular glass table.

Kyungsoo made a mental note of giving his assistant a raise for being professional and not taking advantage despite his status at the company.

"Shall we proceed or wait for your companion?" Kyungsoo said when he saw the vacant chair next to Mr. Kim with an unfinished cup of coffee in front of it.

"Oh it's alright. It is just my assistant taking a call from our office." Mr. Kim explained.

Jongdae laid out the documents in front of them. They started signing the papers when Eunmi hurriedly made her way back to the conference room in a quiet manner. She whispered something to his boss then gathered up her things from the chair.

Kyungsoo was busy signing the documents when Mr. Kim stood up from his chair, he looked up and got stun at who he saw.

Eunmi was too engrossed with the instructions Mr. Kim is giving her in a hushed tone, not noticing Kyungsoo's shocked face with his eyes so big and mouth gaping. Only when he dropped his pen which made a loud clinking noise against the glass table, did Mr. Kim and Eunmi looked at his direction.

Still in standing position, Mr. Kim quickly apologizes to Kyungsoo introducing Eunmi.

Kyungsoo also stood up with his facial reaction subtly switching to a goofy smile. He's only seeing Eunmi and everything became a blur. He doesn't understand anymore what Uncle Kim was saying but spaced out completely.

As she was in a hurry, Eunmi also quickly apologizes to Kyungsoo and nod to Jongdae then immediately left the room. She still remembers his handsome face but cannot quite figure out his bizarre expression. As much as she wanted to dwell on his reaction, she has some urgent things to do and left at it.

She started thinking and planning what his boss has instructed her. Taking her phone out, Eunmi dialled as she walked to the elevator.

Meanwhile back in the conference room, Kyungsoo is still out of his own world making Jongdae and his uncle bewildered.

He cannot not believe that he was seeing her in the flesh again! She was the same as he remembered her, though a little paler than before, or probably due to the effect of the alcohol she had that night. She is still beautiful as ever, his woman. The same eyes which was really splendid noticing the sparkle in them, button nose, sensual, pouty lips and creamy, light skin. His woman, he sighed.

His assistant and Mr. Kim have been calling him for a few minutes when he did not react eversince Eunmi took her leave. Jongdae have to shake his shoulder looking at him strangely. Kyungsoo snapped out of his reverie and noticed that she was not in the room anymore.

'How long was he stupidly smiling at nothing? Where did she go? Was she really there or was it just his eyes playing tricks for missing her terribly?' he could feel his face turning red.

"Prez, are you alright?" Jongdae has to ask again. He was really weirded out with his boss' attitude lately. 'I hope he is not taking drugs. It will be a pity.' he thought but shrugged it away. He knew something is not really right as soon as his boss noticed Eunmi but can't quite figure it out.

"What's her name?" he finally croaked, eyes searching. 'Why does his voice sound squeaky?'

"She is Ms. Cha, my executive assistant. I apologized, she has to leave early, there were some problems with one of the accounts we're handling." Mr. Kim slowly said.

'He sure is a strange man.' he thought not bothering to voice it out since the documents were not fully signed yet. Mr. Kim knew he will not lose this deal but he wanted to earn Do Kyungsoo's trust.

Kyungsoo took his seat again as he revived himself from his gawking appearance and further embarrassment. He wanted to follow her but decided not to since the signing isn't over yet. Though now, a part of him is happy knowing the fact where to find her, he is still disappointed that he did not had his chance to talk to her.

Stupid of him!

If only he knew that she is Mr. Kim's assistant beforehand or that she was in his building earlier on, he could have stopped everything he was doing just to speak to her. Everything that happened just now was unpredictable!

Later, when the signing is finished he will find her and invite her for dinner even if he have to cancel his remaining appointments for that day. He can't believe his luck!

Kyungsoo pulled himself out of his reverie and started acting professionally. "Errm.. Let's continue." he motioned to Mr. Kim.

"As much as I would like to invite you for a dinner, I'm afraid I must immediately return to our office." Mr. Kim said when they finished signing the papers. "Can I invite you next time, Kyungsoo?"

"Of course, Uncle Kim. Just contact Jongdae here for my available time and set it with him." Kyungsoo pleasurably said hiding his relief for he himself had something in mind.

The gentlemen stood up shaking each other's hand. "Jongdae, please show your uncle his way out. I'm going back to my office. Uncle Kim, it is a pleasure meeting you again. I'll see you at the merger party."

Mr. Kim said his thanks and nod to his direction as he exited the room. Kyungsoo followed suit taking his phone out hurriedly.

"I have a lead to what I asked you to investigate. Her name is-" wait, he didn't know her name just the surname. He was an idiot for not asking her name properly. Anyways, the detectives he had hired can easily find her now.

"-Ms. Cha. She is working as the executive assistant of Mr. Kim Jaehyuk, from the Bo Tang Advertising Agency. I want all information by tomorrow morning!" he ended whilst nodding to his subordinates who greeted him along the way.

Returning the phone inside his pocket, he smiled triumphantly as he open his office door.

'Yes!' pumping one fist upwards.

He decided not to follow her anymore instead planned on his approach. He will definitely invite her for dinner tonight.

Kyungsoo looks could be compared to someone who won the lottery. Smiling fully, he bounces inside his office feeling lighthearted. For now, he needs to finish the stack of documents piled on his desk before he could go on with his plans.

He cannot wait!
