Chapter 42

CHAPTER 42

A moment later, Jongin and Hemi came in the kitchen when she's almost done cooking. She's just finishing the pancake and eggs.

"Good morning, you two! How was your sleep, Jongin?"

"Good, I supposed, until Kyungsoo called me to say to help you cook breakfast." Jongin said smiling.

Eunmi was holding a spatula about to flip the pancakes but stopped upon hearing what Jongin has said. She was blushing and embarrassed with Kyungsoo's attitude.

'That man would hear from her!' she thought. "I can't believe that man!"

"He's only worried about you because he loves you." came Hemi's soothing voice.

"I told him I'm just pregnant, not an invalid. And I have been doing this even before I met him." Eunmi said shaking her head, continuing on cooking.

"What can you do, my bestfriend fell head over heels with you." Jongin defended whilst taking the orange juice from the fridge. Hemi was already setting the table.

"Anyways, do you guys have something to do or to go to today?"

"Nothing much, I guess. I just need to get at the office to see if Kyungsoo needed some help. Why?" Jongin asked. He looked at Hemi with a knowing glance.

"I wanted to visit the orphanage, if you don't mind I will borrow Hemi for a while." Eunmi said whilst placing the foods she cooked on the table.

"That's great! Eunmi-ah, you can help me at my boutique. I need to get something there. Probably after we've been to the orphanage. Sonbi will join us by mid afternoon."

"I thought she is busy in making a party cake order? I talked to her earlier on."

"She texted me saying it will be finished by lunch."

"Oh, I see. I was surprised that she accepted a cake order. Usually, it is part of a catering package, isn't it? Or did she expand her catering services to venture on cake orders as well?"

"Perhaps." answered Hemi. Without Eunmi noticing them, Hemi gave a wink to her husband.

"That is nice. Just wondering, she never told us. Come on, let's start eating." summoned Eunmi to them.

They started eating after saying grace.

Eunmi started telling Hemi what to bring for the children at the orphanage and her plans of visiting Kyungsoo's father later on. But since Kyungsoo has instructed them not to allow Eunmi to visit his dad, she will think of a way to avoid it. Kyungsoo has planned for both of them to go to the hospital after their engagement party.

When breakfast was over, Jongin changed and left the two ladies after plenty of mushy exchanges between him and his wife. Eunmi just ignored them since technically they are still on their honeymoon and just continued clearing the table. At last, Jongin let go of her 'Babe' afterwhich Hemi took over, ordering her bestfriend to start changing.

It did not take long for Eunmi to change in her usual jeans and baggy shirt. Hemi frowned at her attire but Eunmi insisted she doesn't need to be glamorous to visit the children at the orphanage. At least, she can move freely whilst playing with them.

Her bestfriend did not complain anymore for they will change anyway before going to the hotel.

Of course, Eunmi does not have a clue about her surprise engagement party.

Eunmi sat next to Hemi in the bench under the tree whilst drinking water. She just finished playing with the children and got thirsty. It's been a while since she came to the orphanage, she had forgotten how much fun to be with them.

She can't wait for her baby to be born!

Glancing at her friend, Hemi is too engrossed with her phone. Actually she kept noticing Hemi is always on her phone texting all the time since they left their condominium. Even now that they are at the orphanage, Hemi is very distracted by her phone.

It's not that she expected her bestfriend in giving gifts and running around with the children like what she had done, Hemi used to join her in playing with them.

"I've noticed you are texting too much and looking at your phone all the time. Is that Jongin?"

"Huh? Ah- yes." Hemi simply said with a smile on her face. She continued texting without looking at Eunmi.

"I still cannot believe you went back from your honeymoon. At least you're always with your husband and not texting him like that as if there's no tomorrow." Eunmi is not angry but is just feeling sorry to both of them.

Hemi finished texting and looked at Eunmi. "That is what keeping the romance alive and making us excited everytime we see each other." She said whilst waving her phone.

"Okaaayyy." Eunmi just rolled her eyes.

Hemi hugged Eunmi, "As we've told you, it was a mutual decision. Jongin knew Kyungsoo has a lot on his plate at the moment. You knew they grew up together, like brothers, and Kyungsoo's father treated him like his son so he wanted to go back and be there for him. Just like me, when I heard about your pregnancy, there is no place I wanted to be but next to you to give you support at a very difficult time."

Eunmi patted Hemi's arm, "I just felt its unfair for both of you."

"Look Eunmi-ah, Jongin is now my husband. We can go anytime, anywhere we want. We still have a month of our honeymoon. At the end of the day, we're still together."

"Thank you." Eunmi is really blessed for she is surrounded by self-less friends. She hoped she will manage to do something in return as great as what they have done for her and Kyungsoo.

Thinking about Kyungsoo made her miss him. She can't wait to see him tonight.

'Really?!' she thought to herself.

"We've never discussed this but tell me, what is your feelings for Kyungsoo?"

"I told this to Sonbi on the night of your wedding that I like him but I think what I am feeling for him now is more than that. If there is a level between like and love, I definitely think I am there."

"That's rubbish, there is no such thing! You LOVE him, Eunmi-ah. I can see it in your eyes. You are just trying to be sensible about your feelings, however no one can explain things when you fall in love. It just hits you, that is why some people do crazy things out of their ordinary when it comes to love." Hemi explained to Eunmi.

Eunmi reflected on what her bestfriend has said. She cannot deny to herself, she loves Kyungsoo.

Her bestfriends are really the best. They really makes things easy for her to comprehend.

Both were silent for a few moments when they heard a ping of a phone.

"That's my phone!" Hemi said quickly detaching herself from Eunmi and hurriedly looking at her mobile.

Eunmi just shook her head.

Unbeknownst to her, Hemi is not just texting her husband, she is messaging all of their friends in the group chat Jongin created yesterday so they can all update each other of their own tasks progress for the party later.

Hemi was actually messaging Kyungsoo more than everybody else as he keeps asking how Eunmi is. In the end Hemi send him a short video of her bestfriend, without her knowledge, whilst distributing presents to the children at the orphanage.

Kyungsoo keeps nagging her to avoid Eunmi from getting tired or it will affect their baby. Hemi patiently responded assuring him that Eunmi is fine and happy at the moment.

Eunmi cannot know what she is doing, otherwise it will ruin the plan.
