Chapter 66

CHAPTER 66

Kyungsoo woke up with a headache feeling the need to empty his bladder. At first he was confused, calling his wife's name as he rubbed his temple.

Then he realised his friends are all scattered in the living room sleeping, remembering they had visited him last night ending up drinking with them till they all passed out.

Suddenly remembering as well he has to see Eunmi today to speak with her and clear up all the misunderstandings and try to bring her back with him, he stirred from his position.

It was still dark outside, seeing the sun by the windows is going to rise soon, he stood up.

He needs to get a move on so he freshen himself quicky in the bathroom and went out to the car park, leaving his friends behind. They know what to do to themselves. Today is important. He must see Eunmi-ah to explain everything and win her back.

He tried calling her as he continued driving but realised he forgot his phone.

It does not matter because he knows where he is and Suho hyung gave him the passcode to his apartment.

Hoping in meeting his wife, Kyungsoo prayed hard Eunmi will take him back. He misses her and their baby. He longed for her embrace and her kisses. He can't wait to see her in person.

In no time at all, Kyungsoo arrived at the apartment building. Pulling into a stop, he saw his face in the mirror.

God, he looked awful! He put a smile on his face and told himself everything will be fine.

The sun already has risen. He wonders if Eunmi is already awake as he waited for the elevator to open.

Will she slam the door on his face when she sees him? Will she slap him again and curse at him? Will she listen to his explanation? Will she accepts his apologies and take him back? Does she still loves him?

That stopped Kyungsoo from knocking at the door. He lowered his hand slowly.

'No!'

He will beg her.

He will beg her to listen to him, he will beg her to accept him back. He will beg her, even though he has to impose.

Kyungsoo continued knocking on the door listening for some movements on the opposite side in anticipation.

No answer.

He has been knocking for the last two full minutes so he opened the door with the codes. Then he quietly entered the room calling Eunmi's name.

No response, just a deafening silence inside the apartment.

The inside of the place was minimal but cozy. He went to the bedroom but saw the bed tidy. Looked inside the bathroom but his wife is not there.

'Where could she be?' Kyungsoo wondered.

He sat on the couch for his headache came back. Kyungsoo rubbed his temple. He is tired and wanted to sleep but he needs to see his wife first.

'Why did he get himself so drunk last night?' Though he did not regret for he enjoyed being with the guys last night.

Kyungsoo must have been sitting for almost half an hour and Eunmi is still not back. He decided to go out and find her outside, thinking maybe she went to walk by the beach. This is what the private investigators reported to him. She was always taking a walk by the beach in the morning.

He recognised the places he was running to and fro from the pictures sent to him. But there was no sight of Eunmi. He went to the beach and run the length of the bay but did not find her.

Kyungsoo was puzzled, Xiumin hyung and the rest of the guys told him his wife is in this place but she is nowhere to be seen. He went back to the apartment thinking she must be already back.

But still Eunmi wasn't there. He went back to the bedroom and checked the wardrobes.

'Why does this feels like a deja vu?' he thought to himself.

Her clothes are not there. That is why he thought at first the bedroom looked tidy. Why did he not look in the wardrobes first? She must have left again.

Kyungsoo panicked. His wife left again.

Does this mean she left for good after speaking to all? Their friends assured him Eunmi is not anymore angry and misses him as well. So why is she not here?

'Where is she? Why did she leave?'

Kyungsoo cursed himself for he wants to urgently call people but his phone is not with him.

He saw the landline and dialed the mansion's number. The phone was answered by the housekeeper.

"Hello Mrs. Hong, its me Kyungsoo. Is my wife at the mansion?"

He listened to the other side, with his face looking gloomier than before.

"It's alright. I have to go. Thank you."

He hung up the phone without waiting for Mrs. Hong to finish, frantically dialing another number. His own mobile number.

Praying that one of the guys will answer, he waited impatiently.

'Eunmi-ah, where are you?' he thought.

No one picked up his phone. The guys must still be dead drunk. He called again and waited.

After three tries, Kyungsoo frustratedly slammed the phone on its cradle. He sat in the chair and leaned forward putting his head between his two hands trying to recall one of the guys number, but experienced pulsating headache instead.

"AAAHHHHH!" he shouted after sometime. "Eunmi-ah!" then started breaking down.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... please come back...Eunmi..." he cried.

Kyungsoo looked pitiful as he collapsed on the sofa, crying, regretting not coming earlier on as soon as he knew where she was.

He misses her terribly and its hurting him to think she's gone again. Is that how much she hates him? Will he be able to see her? He just wants to see her in person even though just a glimpse of her. Is that too much to ask?

Kyungsoo continued crying for God knows how long.

After sometime, Kyungsoo stood up and left the apartment.

The door closed already when the land phone rang.

Meanwhile at the mansion, Mrs. Hong wanted to tell Kyungsoo about his father but he already put down the phone.

"I wanted- Kyungsoo, hello! Hello!"

She tried ringing his number but he was not picking up anymore. She was strictly instructed to inform him of Senior Do's condition as soon as he heard from Kyungsoo.

'Otoke? I haven't told him about his father.' Mrs. Hong thought.

Mrs. Hong just decided to report to Senior Do instead. However, she wondered what happened to both husband and wife?
