CHAPTER 37

Hearing Kyungsoo talked about his Dad, Eunmi felt sullen. "I do hope your father will recover soon." she softly said.

"I hope so too then we can tell him our good news." Kyungsoo kissed her on the forehead. It felt automatic for Eunmi to embrace him patting his back.

"Probably we could go visit him after dinner?" Eumi hopefully suggested looking up at him.

"No. I've promised Dr. Chang to take good care of you, no more stresses for you today. You must rest. I'll visit him later, we could go together some other time."

"But-"

"No more buts, honey. The baby is more important as of now. Come on, we need to get you some food otherwise Sonbi might wring my neck if I keep you here." Kyungsoo exaggeratedly said.

Remembering at how scary Sonbi was staring at him earlier on when Eunmi was still asleep. He couldn't helped but shiver a little.

"Alright. Before we eat, I just want to ask if you're ok?" Eunmi wants to know how Kyungsoo felt with his father's condition.

She can't explain it but she can feel Kyungsoo is worried, probably about his Dad. A tinge of sadness is evident on his eyes whenever his father is mentioned.

"What do you mean?"

"About your Dad." Eunmi softly asserted.

"I'm ok, but sometimes I feel worried. I know my Dad is a strong man and he will push out of his coma but it's really worrisome since we don't know when. It's my first time seeing my Dad like that after my Mom..." he stopped reminiscing the period her mother was in the same situation as his Dad right now. The mood suddenly changed as Kyungsoo recalled his deceased mother.

Eunmi didn't comment anymore instead hugged Kyungsoo. It's the least she can do to comfort him. "Let's just hope and pray hard, that's all we could do for him at the moment, Kyungsoo-ah."

Kyungsoo was really glad he fell for the right woman. He knew Eunmi has a golden heart. He knew that deep within her, she is tormented by her forlorn attempt to unravel the mystery behind her pregnancy but still kept it aside in order to ask about his feelings with regards to his own dilemmas.

How could a person shun their own feelings just to comfort others? Kyungsoo really felt blessed for having her.

They stayed in their position for a minute whilst Kyungsoo kissed her head. Without further ado, Kyungsoo let go of Eunmi and led her out of the door towards the dining room holding her hand the entire time.

Their friends were already at the table and were glad they joined them just in time to enjoy the hearty dinner cooked by Sonbi. Soon the dining room was filled with their laughter.

Kyungsoo returned to the hospital after having dinner with Eunmi and their friends at their condominium. Tempted as he was to not leave Eunmi's side for the night, she assured him she will be there when he comes back tomorrow morning and made him promise to check on his Dad before going home in her behalf.

Kyungsoo could not do anything as Yeol pulled him towards the door to leave their place. But before leaving, he kissed Eunmi for how many times until Jongin have to tap his back telling him it's getting late and Eunmi needs her rest.

Kyungsoo could only enviously looked at his bestfriend as he smugly smirked at him, knowing that Jongin and Hemi will temporarily live with Eunmi and Sonbi.

Resigned to his fate, Kyungsoo has to succumb as giving Eunmi his last peck on her cheeks before following Yeol out of the door. He couldn't seem to get enough of her.

He nodded to the nurses at the CCIU station as they greeted him, who were monitoring their respective patients in the CCTVs.

Entering his Dad's suite room, Kyungsoo let out a sigh as he saw his father still connected to electrical wires, tubes and IV drips and a monitoring machine. Though, his father's body still look fit and healthy but his face showed sudden ageing. How he wished his father was back in the mansion reading his newspaper or chatting with his friends.

A lot of questions run through his mind that he wanted to ask his father but knew he wouldn't get any answers. He read and watched from movies previously that talking to a comatose person do benefit them for they could still hear, he'd like to try it. He thought he will not lose anything for just trying and he is dying to share his happiness to his dad.

Kyungsoo grabbed a chair and sat next to his father's bed and held his hand. "Hey, Dad. How are you feeling now?" only the continuous beeping of the machine responded as he watched his Dad's peaceful rise and fall of his chest.

"You wouldn't believe my news if you heard it. I'm getting married in two weeks' time! I know it's so sudden but I can't wait to be with the woman I love. Plus I'm going to give you a grandchild soon! Yes, I'm going to be a Dad too! I'm so happy, I cannot contain my feelings, Dad! Where you this happy when you knew Mom was pregnant with me? Oh, by the way, you already met my future wife and I know you will like her for me. She is Cha Eunmi, the one you met at Jongin and Hemi's wedding. She sent her regards, Eunmi wanted to come to visit you today but because of her condition, I told her to rest well first. But we will visit you together when she's much stronger. I guess, I've already fulfilled your wishes, and your will without knowing it."

Recollecting the meeting he had with Uncle Jongro that morning regarding his father's will, it shocked him. He was not expecting it.

Kyungsoo and his father are very, very close so he knew about his living will which he was not bothered showing little interest about it. But he was astounded to know that his father have changed it with new provisions just recently. He must be really desperate for him to settle down.

Well, he can't blame his father for that, that is his own business. In the first place it's his Dad's fortune, everything he has at the moment was given by him.

Though he thought about the provisions were somewhat premeditated, his father was really serious on his jokes and comments for him to get married soon to came up with that absurd will. And this is the ultimate reason he didn't bother telling Eunmi about it for the implications might disturbed her and reject him as well.
