Chapter 34

CHAPTER 34

Eunmi stirred in her bed, probably awaken by their noise. Immediately, the three released themselves from their group hug and came closer to Eunmi as she opened her eyes and attempted to sit up. Kyungsoo assisted her whilst Hemi placed a pillow behind her back. Sonbi gave her a glass of water.

"How are you feeling?" Kyungsoo asked as his face showed full of love and concern again.

"Are you feeling better now, Eunmi-ah?" It was Hemi.

"Thanks." Eunmi said after she drank and return the glass to Sonbi. "Did I faint again, didn't I."

It was a statement, not a question. What happened earlier came back to her in an instant.

'Damn.' Eunmi thought as she leaned back on the pillow.

"Yeah, luckily the floor was carpeted and Kyungsoo caught your head before you hit it somewhere." recalled Sonbi. "Your husband-to-be here is very quick on his reflexes when it comes to you." she snickered.

"I'm still feeling woozy, but I'll be better soon, I guess." Eunmi said looking at Kyungsoo giving him her silent gratitude.

"Once you feel a bit better, I will need to bring you back to the hospital according to Dr. Chang." Kyungsoo gently said.

"Why? When did you speak to her?" Eunmi asked.

"Early this morning when I stayed with you last night, you were asleep..." Kyungsoo said.

'He did come and visit me?' Eunmi thought to herself. "Why did you not wake me up then?"

"It was already too late when I came to your suite. I guess you were too tired because you never woke up whenever hospital staff are going in your room." Kyungsoo explained. "I left after I've spoken with Dr. Chang this early morning because I got a call from my dad's doctors so I did not wait for you to wake up anymore."

Eunmi thought Kyungsoo was sweet. It was just a shame she did not manage to speak with him last night. She is starting to believe Kyungsoo is really serious about his intentions to her.

Hemi noted that both are just talking to themselves as if they are in their own world and completely ignored the two of them so she said, "Are you not going to bring Eunmi to the hospital?" she prodded on to Kyungsoo, interrupting their constant stares to each other.

"Right." Kyungsoo said as if waking up from a trance. Eunmi has always this effect on her.

"Do I have to go?" Eunmi asked.

"Yes, it's for the safety of your baby, Eunmi-ah." Sonbi said.

Eunmi cannot refute anymore and just sighed, "Oh well, let me just change my clothes and freshen up a bit then."

Quarter an hour later, Kyungsoo left with Eunmi in his car to go to the hospital.

Whilst Kyungsoo was driving, Eunmi thanked him for his troubles. He just smiled and held Eunmi's hand in response. He held her hands the entire time without letting it go even when they walked inside the hospital.

Eunmi's check up with Dr. Chang was alright. She was actually praying not to be hospitalised otherwise she will be bored to death. However, her doctor insisted on doing another scan in order to be sure.

Kyungsoo felt so proud when he saw their baby whilst Eunmi was having the scan. He held her hand during the entire examination.

Dr. Chang gave Eunmi the all clear to go home but only after emphasizing to avoid further stress. She also told Kyungsoo to look after Eunmi very well and to ensure she is always taking her vitamins.

After giving Eunmi's next check up schedule, they both thanked the Obstetrician and left the clinic still holding hands.

Eunmi requested from Kyungsoo to visit his father but he told her she needs to rest first. Anyways, Daddy Edward is still in the CCIU for the next 3 days or so until he is more stable before transferring to his suite, Kyungsoo explained.

He felt she was disappointed but he promised her once she has rested very well, they will both come to visit his father. Eunmi did not say anymore but only nodded.

Eunmi can feel her importance to Kyungsoo and his care for her throughout until they arrived back to her condo. Kyungsoo was always checking if she feels alright or tired. He opened every door for her and protected her by shielding her from bumping with other people at the hospital since the place was a bit congested at the time of their visit.

As soon as they went in, Sonbi and Hemi were waiting in the living room to ask for updates. They all went straight to Eunmi's room as Kyungsoo told her to rest. Eunmi reassured her bestfriends that the check up went well so they do not need to worry.

Both of her bestfriends were relieved upon hearing the news.

Sensing that they needed to talk to themselves, Hemi pulled Sonbi up. "Oh alright, I guess we need to prepare for our dinner now. Kyungsoo can look after you whilst we cook. Come on, Son."

Eunmi's eyebrows rose to what Hemi have said knowing her bestfriend doesn't do well in the kitchen, yet she did not say anything.

"See you in a bit. Rest first Eunmi-ah. We'll call you  both once dinner is ready." Sonbi said standing up from Eunmi's bed then gave her a wink and hurriedly followed Hemi out.

Eunmi got embarrassed but just watched as her two bestfriends left her alone with Kyungsoo. Luckily he did not see that little wink Sonbi gave her .

As the two exited the room, Kyungsoo sat on her bed facing Eunmi. "Do you want to sleep more? Don't worry about me, I'll just be here." he softly said.

Looking at her now, Kyungsoo can see some color starting to creep back at her pale face. If only Eunmi can share her feelings of being pregnant with him, at least she won't suffer that much. But he is happy that Eunmi is being strong about this pregnancy despite the changes it brings to her body. He couldn't choose a more suitable woman to carry his child other than her.

It will only be Eunmi in his lifetime.
