CHAPTER 12

"I knew it! Where is she?" Sonbi demanded.

Everyone on the table listened attentively, particularly Kyungsoo whose ears perked up. He was literally holding his breath.

"She's not in the city. Apparently, Eunmi and her boss went to the south an hour ago to settle a client's complaint." Hemi said.

"Typical. Is she still going to attend your wedding?!" Sonbi crossed her arms. Yeol placed his arm around her shoulder when he noticed Sonbi is about to throw a fit.

"Of course, or I'll skin her alive! She said they will be back later this evening as well. But she will not be able to come here anymore as it will be too late. I guess I'll have to wait for her. Babe, can you keep me company tonight until Eunmi arrives?" Hemi turned to Jongin seated next to her.

"Of course, babe." Jongin smiled.

Yeol interjected, "You both half-expected this, so don't worry ladies."

Kyungsoo drank his red wine in one gulp slumping his shoulders as he dropped his wine glass back on the table.

He really thought he would see her tonight. All of his excitement evaporated into thin air. He was saddened about the fact that he will not be seeing her again today. Regretting their encounter at the office, he really should have run after her during the contract signing.

Kyungsoo supposedly thought luck was on his side but now he ponders against it. Why does the heaven allowing him to suffer like this?

Oh for the agony!

As much as he wanted to leave them all, he refrained from doing so. That would be very rude of him.

Their dinner was served afterwards. Conversations fluttered from their companies, businesses, and random matters to the upcoming wedding. Kyungsoo listened and answered politely when asked. He could never seem to bring back the enthusiasm he had before the dinner.

Although, Kyungsoo ravenously ate the food which he quietly enjoyed, he thought it must be better if Eunmi was there. He particularly likes 5-star menus and he will not let pass the mouth-watering food served on them, he is known for it particularly his best pals. He took note of the restaurant owned by Eunmi's bestfriend.

When dinner was over, Hemi brought out the envelope of photos Jongin showed him at his office.

"Love, are you ogling those macho dancers here?" Baekhyun asked Rena.

"Why, are you jealous?" pouted Rena.

"I don't want you looking at other men except me." he said.

Rena exasperatedly explained, "Byun Baekhyun, it's a bridal shower. What do you want me to do, close my eyes?!"

Sonbi rolled her eyes, "Baekhyun, you're so old fashioned!"

Everybody laughed.

Kyungsoo also looked again at the photos containing Eunmi, not removing his gaze particularly on her. She is really beautiful. Staring at her smiles and some silly faces she did make him smile as well. Laughter was heard in the background as everybody took in turns to see the photos.

They continued drinking their wines as endless talk of the upcoming wedding three days from now became the topic. Kyungsoo cannot control himself and asked Jongdae.

"Do you know Uncle Kim's assistant personally?"

"You mean Eunmi? Actually Prez, she's not just his executive assistant but also an account executive of the agency."
