Chapter 33

CHAPTER 33

Kyungsoo was very worried as he watched over Eunmi lying in her bed. Seeing her fainting again like that makes him wish to be himself suffering instead of her. He has to admit, it was entirely his fault why Eunmi is being like this.

Luckily he managed to catch her before she hit the floor, otherwise that could have affected their baby.

He already had spoken to Eunmi's Obstetrician that very early morning when the doctor visited whilst Eunmi was still asleep. To avoid her from waking up, they had conversed away from her bed knowing Eunmi is very tired.

Dr. Chang told him she must be under a lot of stress that's why she fainted. She informed him her blood works were normal but if in case she collapses again, they need to send her to the hospital. Dr. Chang also reminded him that the early stages of pregnancy is very critical for both the mother and the baby therefore they need to make sure Eunmi does not experience any stresses otherwise she will end up losing the baby. Also, the Obstetrician emphasized on him the importance of rest and to make sure she gets lots of it.

Kyungsoo related these information to Eunmi's bestfriends as Hemi and Sonbi were also inside Eunmi's room and both looked worried as well. They have decided once Eunmi is awake, Kyungsoo will bring her back to the hospital as per Dr. Chang's advice.

To appease Eunmi's parents, they all told Mr. and Mrs. Cha that they will look after her carefully and will inform them of any changes. Since they were tired from the urgent trip, they agreed for the fact that there was also no extra room in the girl's condominium.

Kyungsoo arranged for them to stay at his mansion than anywhere else. Jongdae volunteered to bring them over there.

Sonbi cannot control herself anymore, she started confronting Kyungsoo in a low voice. "Do Kyungsoo, please kindly explain what happened earlier on."

"Yeah, how did you know she was drunk when it happened?" accused Hemi.

Kyungsoo winced inside upon hearing Hemi. Both ladies were looking at him, they do not look angry but rather curious. "Jongin told me."

"Oh yeah, I've told him about that when I called him earlier on whilst he was with you. That man will hear from me! It was supposed to be between the two of us. Sorry Sonbi-ah."

"I've also told Yeolie about it as he keeps nagging at me." Sonbi truthfully confessed. "Eunmi will understand."

Kyungsoo was relieved upon hearing them. He does not need to give his bestfriend a heads up.

Sonbi looked at Kyungsoo again. "Anyways, getting back to the topic at hand. Why did you do it? Is everything you said to Eunmi's parents true or just made up?" Sonbi asked referring to marrying her bestfriend despite being pregnant.

"My words were all true and I did it because I really do love Eunmi." was his only response. Sonbi and Hemi were both euphoric upon hearing him.

Still, Hemi wanted to confirm one thing.

"Despite her pregnancy?"

"Yes. I love everything about her. I will not let anything nor anyone harm her. Eversince I first met her I knew that Eunmi is the only woman for me. And I will do anything in my power to keep her mine."

A smile almost crept out of Sonbi's face so she said, "Marrying our bestfriend meant giving your name to her child, are you willing to do so?"

"When I said loving everything about her, that includes her baby as well. I do not think we should continue calling it 'her baby' anymore. From now on, her baby is our baby. The baby will carry my name even though it has not been born yet."

"Do you promise to protect her all your life, no matter what the circumstance is?" Hemi asked.

Kyungsoo nodded, "I do not know what words need to come out of my mouth to believe me, words may not be enough for both of you for now, but I do hope my future actions will able to prove my love for Eunmi."

Sonbi and Hemi were silent for a few moments.

"I am glad to hear that but if ever you made our bestfriend cry, our wrath will be upon you." Sonbi said breaking the silence.

Hemi nodded and seriously followed Sonbi's words, "You never knew both of us that long enough but we will be your worst nightmare if you ever hurt Eunmi, even though my husband is your bestfriend. I swear."

Kyungsoo was somewhat nervous at what the two ladies' words. He was almost shivering inside because of their bluntness and straightforwardness and due to the fact that he is holding a big secret. A very big secret that might ruin his reputation in Eunmi's eyes.

Looking at the two ladies who were staring back at him eludes the feeling of being under the scrutiny of police officers. His exterior was showing a formidable front but deep inside, he is quivering with guilt. Though he was taller than the two, Sonbi and Hemi's presence towers over him. He swallowed hard.

This must be the "grilling" that Eunmi warned him about.

He cannot blame them for acting this way because he completely knew the importance of each one of them to each other. Learning the fact that these three ladies have been best of friends for more than two decades, their relationship surpasses any blood relations.

Kyungsoo stared back with equal seriousness before he responded. "I'll exchange my life and soul if I have to, just to be with her."

Both ladies smiled widely as they gave him a hug stunning him. "You passed!" Hemi delightedly said followed by Sonbi. "Welcome to the family, Kyungsoo!"

He didn't utter anymore but smiled bashfully as well, encircling the ladies in one big bear hug to express his gratitude, that's all he can do.
