Chapter 29

CHAPTER 29

Sonbi did not take long to arrange Eunmi's discharge papers the next day whilst the latter stayed in the room packing her things. She returned to the room immediately bringing her bestfriend a piece of news.

"That was quick." Eunmi said whilst still busy putting her things back in the bag, wondering how did she end up having too many clothes for an overnight stay at the hospital.

Then she remembered it was Sonbi who packed and brought them to her yesterday.

"Did you know Kyungsoo settled your bill already? He didn't come to visit you again last night when we were gone, did he?" asked Sonbi, helping to put her clothes inside the bag.

Eunmi shook her head and stopped what she was doing. "Why would he do that, I wonder?"

"Probably, he's obliged to do so since he was the one who brought you here in the first place." reasoned Sonbi. "Plus the man is rich."

"I am not a charity." she strongly answered. She has set her mind to pay him back.

"Or perhaps, Do Kyungsoo really cares for you, even if you are pregnant." Sonbi was still hopeful.

"I doubt it, Son. Who will be stupid to like a pregnant woman, who does not know how it happened? Particularly, when that woman doesn't even know who got her pregnant?" she pointed out whilst continuing with packing her things into the bag.

Sonbi kept silent.

Last night, Eunmi pondered on what had happened to her. She was brought up as a Christian so she will definitely keep the baby. Her baby does not have anything to do nor should be blamed with what had happened to her.

So who is the father of his baby? That is the biggest mystery of her life right now that needs to be solved quickly.

The only man that recently became closer to her was Do Kyungsoo.

Eunmi knew touching and light kissing will not make you pregnant.

It will be good if Kyungsoo is her baby's father, she loved and wanted the idea but it is impossible. They only met a week ago.

The question now is how did she become pregnant?

Eunmi thought very hard last night but came up with nothing. It only made her head ached. She accepted the fact she cannot be together with Kyungsoo anymore. It is best to treat him as a friend though her heart is aching and deep inside she still wished to see him again even if it is just a fleeting moment. She actually cried herself to sleep last night pitying what had happened to her.

"But somehow, I would like to thank him, after all I'm considering him as a friend." Eunmi knew it will take some time to forget her feelings for Kyungsoo. The least she can do is just treat him as a good friend to ease her heart.

Because this time no one broke her heart in the first place, it is just the circumstance she is in which makes it more overwhelming.

Truthfully yesterday, a part of her still wished that he would come back and visit her again. But then they learned about Kyungsoo's father's condition last night from Jongdae, she did not hope anymore. That explains the reason why he left urgently yesterday.

In a way Eunmi felt sorry for him, completely forgetting her own situation. She knew Kyungsoo is already orphaned by her mother and it will be hard for him if his father left too. However rich he is, nothing is still comparable to having a family to support you.

Remembering about her own family, she prayed hard that they will be understanding of her situation.

"Sonbi, let's visit Kyungsoo's father before we leave the hospital." Her bestfriend nodded. She thought of it to show appreciation to Kyungsoo and to support him as well. Come to think of it, he supported her yesterday and that is the only thing she can think of on how to return back his kindness for now.

"Is it because-"

Eunmi cut what she was saying. "No, that's not it. I'm starting to get over it, I need to. I just wanted to thank him and support him as well, the way he did for me yesterday. I think it's best to treat him as a friend." she explained.

Sonbi accepted what she said.

They both left the room and went straight to Senior Do's unit. Jongdae had told them where he is last night so they knew exactly which part of the hospital to go to.

They knocked on the VIP suite before entering only to be greeted by Mrs. Hong. They informed the kind housekeeper who were they and in returned she told them that Kyungsoo's father is still in the CCIU. The housekeeper also informed them that Kyungsoo went to his office and will be back shortly if they want to wait. Eunmi told the kind woman that they were in a hurry and that they will come back some other time.

It was the truth since Yeol was already waiting for them at the hospital lobby.

They thanked the housekeeper and left.

Once they have reached their condominium, she told Sonbi and Yeol that she is feeling tired. She went straight to her room and laid on her bed.

Sensing that her bestfriend is getting downcast again, Sonbi followed Eunmi.

Yeol stayed in the living room, giving the two ladies time for themselves. He knew Eunmi's problem, Sonbi has told him and like the rest, he was shocked with the news as well. Albeit he will be there whenever they needed him to give support for Eunmi.

Sonbi knocked on Eunmi's door before entering.

"Hey. Are you alright?" Sonbi softly asked.

"I will be." Everything was surreal. If only she got a clue as to what had happened to her. "I just needed some rest, Son. Being pregnant makes you feel tired all the time."

"It is just normal. Oh well, in case you needed something, we'll be outside." Eunmi nodded. "I'll ask Yeol to buy your vitamins and I'll cook lunch for us ok."

Eunmi thanked her bestfriend as Sonbi closed the door, failing to see tears flowing down from her bestfriend's eyes.
