Chapter 69

CHAPTER 69

Kyungsoo opened his eyes to the blinding light peeking from the curtains covering the windows and sat up from the bed.

He groaned for he got another splitting headache, feeling parched in his throat wanting to drink water. Remembering getting drunk again last night but this time in a bar, Kyungsoo recollected the events from yesterday.

He was baffled because he didn't know how he managed to get home, changed his clothes and slept on his bed. The last thing he remembered was drinking alone in the VIP lounge of the bar he frequented with the guys. He was trying to drown the excruciating pain he felt from not seeing his wife.

His heart is still aching right now that he recalled what happened yesterday.

Nevertheless one thing is for sure, he dreamt about his wife. A good dream indeed. In his dream, he saw his wife in the bedroom, waiting for him, embracing and kissing him, telling him she will not leave him anymore.

It's only a dream, but it felt so real. He looked at his hand, he felt like he did hold her. However the bed is empty, it was only him in the room.

Kyungsoo stared at the empty spot always occupied by Eunmi on the bed, wishing his wife will materialise. He heavily sighed, wiping his hands on his face.

Kyungsoo leaned on the headboard, thinking about his wife.

'Where could she be?'

Negative thoughts started running in his mind. He is hoping Eunmi will not divorce him. He then clutched his chest for the pain felt searing upon thinking about it.

'But what if she asked for it?'

Kyungsoo will definitely not sign it. He will try his best to avoid it, no matter what. He will use his lawyers if that happens.

He wiped his hands on his face again.

'No! Eunmi still loves me! We have a child.' Kyungsoo pushed the 'divorce' out of his mind and concentrated on what to do next.

His head is still throbbing but he tried looking for his phone, remembering it was forgotten in the study. He needs to start phoning people to find where his wife is.

Kyungsoo was about to get up from the bed when he heard a faint clanging noise from outside, as if something had fallen.

Then he heard Eunmi's voice calling him.

Kyungsoo can't believe it, slowly shaking his head. Is he still drunk or is that his imagination? This headache is making him hallucinate.

"Kyu-Kyungsoo... Honeyyy!"

Wait, that is definitely not his imagination!

It is his wife calling him!

Kyungsoo immediately run outside of the bedroom to where the voice was coming from.

Kyungsoo slowed down on his track as he saw Eunmi with one arm on the kitchen isle counter for support and the other arm cradling her tummy. A wooden ladle is on the wet floor.

Now Kyungsoo can't believe what he was seeing! His wife is in the kitchen!

Eunmi is in the kitchen!

Does it mean his dream last night was for real? He slapped his cheek.

His wife is still there. His wife really did come back then!

Kyungsoo just stood there as if transfixed.

"Eunmi-ah..." he uttered.

"Pl-Please don't just stand there... I-l think my wa-water bag broke..." Eunmi was wincing in pain, huffing as she looked at Kyungsoo. "Urhmm!" blowing through her mouth.
