CHAPTER 50

-Two weeks after-

The pull of consciousness from the living world made Eunmi open her eyes slowly. She blinked several times for her eyes need to adjust in the morning light whilst stretching her arms upward as if reaching for the heavens. Then she saw her wedding band next to her engagement ring. With her left arm still lifted up, Eunmi dreamily smiled at the thought.

She could not believe it, she is already married!

Sonbi's words really did come true. Who would have thought that catching the bouquet in a wedding will make you walk down the aisle next? Eunmi had long thought that it is just an unbridled notion by old maids and grannies.

Everything of yesterday's joyous event came back crystal clear in her mind. She and Kyungsoo had a quiet beach wedding yesterday afternoon just before sunset witnessed by the same people who attended their engagement party two weeks ago. It all felt unreal!

As Kyungsoo promised, he gave her the dream wedding she always wanted. It was ultimately lovely and she can't find fault against it. Eunmi walked down the makeshift aisle barefooted in the wedding gown Hemi specially made for her flanked on each side by her parents towards Kyungsoo, who was just wearing a white button up long sleeved shirt also barefooted (take note, everybody was barefooted!). The altar where the officiating priest is waiting was decorated with her favorite lilies and different shells. Even the petals the flower girl is holding and their wedding bands Baekhyun was holding were all in a shell. The continuous roll of the tide provided a natural hymn for the entourage to walk down.

Kyungsoo's promise vows to her, was unexpected. She didn't even have one! It's a good thing she is in the advertising industry and could whip out an impromptu little speech of her own. She knows Kyungsoo wasn't expecting anything from her but just to avoid people speculating that she wasn't ready. It's not that she didn't treat her wedding as special, she just plainly forgotten about the vows.

But how could she forget about it? Well, he didn't mention it to her either, just another one of her husband's surprises.

(Flashback)

Kyungsoo was facing her to put the wedding ring on her finger whilst saying:

'Eunmi, meeting you is the bestest fortune that ever happened to me. Knowing you is the most important treasure I could ever had. Marrying you is the only wish I could ask for. You gave life to my soul. If I am going to die and be reborn again no matter how many times, I would still choose the path which includes you in all those lifetimes. No words can describe and measure how great my love to you, I just ask for you to believe in me. I can't guarantee our road ahead will be smooth and straight but please never let go and put your trust in me. I love you with all that I am.'

Eunmi's eyes glistened upon hearing his vows to her. Now she is sure of herself, she loves Kyungsoo with all her heart.

She then did the same putting the wedding ring on Kyungsoo's finger whilst saying her own vows. Kyungsoo was looking lovingly at her with a small smile on his face.

(End of Flashback)

It was absolutely romantic. Eunmi couldn't ask for more. Hers was nothing compared to his though, yet all words she uttered came from the bottom of her heart.

Indeed, she is very lucky to have Kyungsoo as her husband, who is always ready to give her anything even those things she is not asking for. She has never met a man as selfless as Kyungsoo. He even invited their friends and family to join in their 'honeymoon', as you call it.

Well, he admitted to her that their two-week stay in the family's beach resort is also business-related. She doesn't mind at all since their marriage is somewhat sudden and she knows how busy Kyungsoo can be with the corporation. But her husband promised her a proper honeymoon just the two of them when everything is settled.
